Before a procedure, Dr. Timmermans ND, shares about the approach and purpose of a stellate ganglion block in DailyDoc Talk 99. Dr. Timmermans is passionate about helping people heal. Before a Stellate Ganglion Block procedure, he talks about the reasoning behind doing a nerve block in a patient’s neck to help facilitate healing from past traumas. In addition to the reasoning, Dr. T shares that it is not a stand alone procedure and it is crucial that it is combined with a form of psychotherapy (cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, talk therapy, etc) in order for the patient to actually do the difficult work of reconditioning, or desensitizing, the past trauma so that it does not impact their lives in the present / future. This procedure has seen incredible results for people with many different types of trauma: veterans, sexual assault, car accidents, traumatic physical events, and more. Dr. Timmermans sees patients from all over the world and he takes great joy in helping people from all walks of life with many different presenting challenges. If you’d like to ask a general health question for him to answer in a future video, please comment below or send him a DM! If you want to ask more personal/ in-depth medical questions, please understand that he needs to see you (virtually or in-office) in order to thoroughly learn your health history and provide medical advice.

Thank you so much for watching. My hope is to create a community where you feel like I provide value to your life. If you feel this is the case, please take a second to introduce yourself, add a comment, or share this video with your closest circle.

Why would someone need both side done rather than just Rt side only reset?

Is there a video where we can actually watch how this procedure is done (animated video even?) with follow up results? I'm asking because this is something I'm considering. I'm convinced my PMDD and PTSD are connected and hoping if I can find relief from my ptsd maybe my PMDD will lighten up.

I dont have an animated video, but I do have several videos on the subject if you search my youtube channel.

When I have to go out and do a lot of things in a day. I'll usually avoid it. If I do decide to go, my body goes crazy. My hands and feet go tingly, my heart races, it's like full body butterflies (not in a good way), I usually wake up with panic every morning. I'm booked in for my SGB consultation in Australia tomorrow. I can't wait to have a quality of life again. Within a month I can find some calm ❤️‍🩹🙏

So hypothetically if I experience something similar to the original trigger for PTSD, would the PTSD come back? I ask because my PTSD is centered around vehicles/driving because I was in a terrible 4-car pile up about 3 years ago. Not saying I plan to be in another MVA but in the case that I was, what would happen chemically?
@DrewTimmermansND

The effect of triggers is dampened in the few months after the SGB

Hey doc I have my appointment on the 19th of this month, I have some slight anxiety, nervousness, jittery, very slight feeling of sense of doom, will this procedure help get my amygdala back to normal? And does it also help with slight depression? And fear?

I feel like I'm locked in the fight or flight mode for about 20 years. Every ptsd test I take tells me it's likely I have ptsd. I have been diagnosed with anxiety/depression and adhd and no meds aside from benzos have been able to help. Do you think something like this would provide me with relief?

If people are very angry and anxious because of their PTSD yes it will help improve that to a more natural state of peace and calm

Agree with Drew. Changes in mood are hoped for, but it does not change someones personality.

@@DrewTimmermansND Sadly no but I've now found a Private "Interventional Radiologist" who gives them for Hot Flashes so just wait on a Doc Appt to make the Referral to this Specialist (hpfully he will accept for C-PTSD!!!) ... Seems I'll be one of the 1st in NZ as NO:ONE in NZ had any idea (incl Medical Professionals; Doctors, Nurses, Pyschiatrists, the Hospital, Healthline, Google, various places that had written articles out about SGB Success ETC - it was only by ringing around LOADS of diff Professionals that I finally found this Guy ... So presumably as long as he gets C3 & C6 it should WORK yes??? It cost a whopping $2236 PER Injection here & I'm on INVALIDS so will need to borrow it to get this done...

I am very well aware of all of the serious risks with this procedure, and I take the same precautions as other physicians who perform this procedure. I appreciate your concern, but you don't know anything about my practice. And my reaction is based on your unfounded assumption about my training, nothing to do with my knowledge of the risks of procedures.

@@DrewTimmermansND What formalized, board certifications in allopathic or osteopathic medicine do you hold to perform procedures? If you believe in naturopathy, why are you practing allopathic medicine? Seems to be outside of your scope of practice.
