4:45 Ignacy Skorupka, during the Battle of Warsaw, the Polish Chaplain who single-handedly turned away the Russian tide. His regiment was under heavy fire, so the men all fell prone avoiding the fire. This one man got up and armed with nothing but his holy cross and marched forward, encouraging all the men to stand and move forward (though how he walked with titanium balls like that, is anyone's guess). The russian tide was thrown back and Poland took victory.

Leon Trotsky was stabbed in the head with an icepick by an assassin in Mexico in 1940. Sergey Kamenev died of a heart attack in 1936 during a trial in which he would have certainly been purged. Mikhail Tukhachevsky was declared a traitor and shot in 1937. Hayk Bzhishkyan was shot in 1937 after being sentenced to detention in 1935. Nikolai Sollogub was executed in 1937. Joseph Stalin was Joseph Stalin. Semyon Budyonny was cavalry obsessed and compared Tukhachevksy's attempt to create a tank corps to wrecking during the Great Purge. His disastrous performance during Barbarossa led to Stalin sacking him and he never commanded an army again, but was awarded Hero of the Soviet Union due to being on Stalin's good side. He died in 1973. Alexander Yegorov was shot in 1939 after Fedor Sudakov and Yan Zhigur sent letters to Stalin criticizing his performance. August Kork was shot in 1937. Alexander Shuvayev was sentenced to 8 years in the gulag during the 1937 purge and was kept there into World War 2. He was released due to extreme illness which would take his life in 1943. Vladimir Lazerivich was shot in 1938.

My great-grandfather was a peasant with his own land. The Bolsheviks entered his property once and looted it thoroughly. He begged on his knees that they would at least leave his horse so that he could continue working his field, but they took the horse as well. After that, he joined the Polish army and fought the invaders. He was a cavalryman (ułan), like in this video. And when Poland was free, he created a prosperous village shop and lived happily. His brother also joined the Polish army. He didn't live to see the end of war - he was shot by the Bolsheviks when he was standing on guard of some bridge. My another great-grandfather joined the war much earlier - he took part in the Kyiv Offensive, during which Polish and Ukrainian soldiers briefly liberated Kyiv. However, when Soviets counter-attacked and flooded Poland, he was captured. Luckily, he wasn't executed. He was a carpenter, so they used his skills to build houses in rural Ukraine. He would return home when the war was over and the prisoners were exchanged. Back home, he created a prosperous workshop and met the love of his life. According to my grandmother, he would always tell how he suffered in the Bolshevik slavery. However, he also had an interesting experience - during some Orthodox holiday, there was (or still is) a tradition that after a morning mass, men stand in a long line next to the church and when women leave the church, they kiss every man in cheek. My grandfather also participated in it and he received many kisses from Ukrainian women that day... allegedly, when he told this story to his family, his wife would always say "Yeah, poor you, you REALLY SUFFERED there" I'm proud of my family and proud to be Polish

Didn’t the Poles first pushed eastwards as far as they could and the Russian and Ukrainian commies pushed back. So technically the Red Army defended the Commies in Ukraine against polish aggression

But it was changed on 1939, when Germans and Soviets invading Polska
