Not sure if anyone there at NASA Johnson will ever see this, but I think a really cool demo would be filling a 3d-printed torus up with water, opening the torus up clamshell style, and seeing the torus floating in space. I think it’s a minimal-surface-energy shape as well so I think it would be stable?
I like studying the properties of water and its related chemistry. So much yet to learn. There have even been a couple discoveries made here on youtube thanks to the democratization of high speed photography and citizen-science.
What sort of function would two small gears have as an effect on a down force if something was turning one way then had to stop to turn the other way does this create a down force all be it very brief when stopping momentarily
