wow, Stunning! I have in the works to do this kind of thing to a piece I have. Little worried now, because I don't have a way to print things out, so this should be interesting. haha
Total learning curve!! But I LOVE it! I love to learn new things and test new skills. Some people think I'm silly for getting an idea of something I've never done before and just going for it, but that's how we all learn and grow!!
Thanks. I really haven’t done anything with stenciling in years so it was all a learning process for me! I’m happy with the end result and learned a lot for next time!
Great idea! I've always thought about screen printing for clothing, I never even thought about using it on furniture! Do you make them or get them from a specific company?
Great job - it’s something I didn’t even know until I saw “cheap” bone inlay tables at TJ Max and they didn’t feel quite right, they told me it was resin? Anyway, you’ve shown me that thinner stencils are better than thick. I will be purchasing mine, and trying resin paint over pearlized paint, so we shall see!! I like that you showed us the mistakes too and how you learned from them. Thanks!
This was awesome and so informative, thank you! Im about to try stenciling for the first time. I was wondering what your thoughts would be on using Pearlescent glaze? Would you recommend using it only on the stencil itself or the entire surface? And if only on the stencil how would you seal the rest of the surface without taking away from the shine of the pearlescent glaze? Thanks again
My pleasure! I am, really new to stenciling so I don't have a lot of advise except to test out whatever you are doing first and see what happens. if you like it, then do it? If you don't then adjust and try something else. Good luck!
I did, i tried rolling, brushing and pouncing with the original stencil. I think it definitely takes some practice and if you are looking for absolute crisp lines, it works. I'm too OCD about this kind of stuff, I needed it to be as crisp and clean as possible!
