STENCIL OUT OF DOLLAR TREE CONTACT PAPER USING CRICUT 

If you use a makeup sponge instead of the foam brush and dab the excess off before dabbing into the stencil. It will avoid the paint to peel off when u pull the stencil. With a makeup up sponge you are picking up less paint.

This is awesome! i didn't even think to look at the dollar store for contact paper. I make signs too and I've noticed that the "nicer" vinyl/contact paper rips my paint off when I paint my background a different color. Sometimes if i'm going for a rustic look, it's great but not always what I'm going for. Thanks for the tips! Also love the modge podge tip!

Don’t let it dry. Pill or off when the paint is still wet and then let the paint dry.

I’m betting that the “Gloss” moge podge put down first may have caused the paint to come up. Try using a matte mod podge, since chalk paint is matte and would adhere better together.

I followed your instructions to the letter to stencil on my classroom cabinets (although I used house paint) and the painted letters pulled right off when I removed the contact paper stencils 🙁

Hi, can you tell me the settings for a Cricut expression model?

I prefer to use paint markers for small quick projects such as this. There are chalk markers too. You may have a better experience. I learned from you today to use modge podge for stenciling. I rarely use stencils but when I have, I've always had bleeding. I subscribed to your channel. I'm glad I came across it. I'm new to the cricut machine. I have an old "create" and am just starting to use it until I can afford the upgrade to "maker". Your channel will come in handy for me because the cricut software is scary to me. Haha.

What do you use for the transfer paper?

Christmas gift crunch time! About to embark on a project using DT contact paper but do not have the transfer paper. Not sure what to look for when I go to Michael's!? I also think I made a mistake in buying a roll of clear contact paper lol.

Do you think you could do this with the non adhesive shelf liner? To make them reusable stencils?

HI, I used contact paper to stencil, but after I remove the stencil and my project is completed, I notice a stickiness left behind by the adhesive from the contact paper, I thought that the burnishing was the problem, but I tried doing it a bit softer, but still the adhesive stays behind. I even tossed a couple rolls thinking I got a bad "batch." What am I doing wrong? :(

Do you have a beginner video on how to use cricut and design space? Or do you have a recommendation on were I can go to learn the most about using mine. I didn't get any booklet but did see they sell a booklet. Do you think it's worth getting. Oh and when i did a few workshops the teacher said to take the stencil immediately after you were done putting your paint on. It prevents the paint going with the stencil. Idk if that helps but just thought I would tell u since u asked :)

Hi, I'm new to this so please bear with me i have noticed on videos that there are several lines of tools on other cricut DS that I see. mine only has 1 line and drop down boxes How do you change this? BTW you are my favorite to watch for ideas. I've been binge watching.

Can you help me understand the purpose of using the transfer paper? Why can you just directly press the stencil onto the block?
