Stenciling and setbacks-that pretty much sums up every day of these past few weeks. Fortunately we're also hitting plenty of milestones, like finishing the guest bathroom at the Heights House, landscaping and irrigation, kitchen countertops, major progress in the master bathroom and completing my 27 hour stenciling marathon!
Trying to make it through these last few weeks until we can finally get the keys to our new home and start nesting! One day at a time...

Gosh you guys, sorry for all the set backs and issues. You are resilient and staying positive, it's inspiring! I too would love to hear your thoughts when it's all finished on what you learned with the new build. I feel confident you will be moved in before baby girl arrives!

Amazing how much it changed your patio to paint and use the stencil. Although I didn’t realize how long it would take, you poor thing 🤣. Looks so good, thanks for sharing.

Hi. I’ve heard building contractors purposely screw up just to delay and extend contracts. Job insurance. I know people who swear they’d never build again because of the long con games by contractors. Id love a video on insights and “lessons learned” using contractors. The fact contractors are constantly making costly “mistakes” with no improvement, even after a decade in the business....something’s up.

L yes- that’s what scares me away from a fixer upper!! I was warned by someone who builds commercial real estate that it’s VERY common for contractors to drag out a job by making mistakes that will end up netting them more money. He said whatever you think your budget is add another 25-40% on top of that because it will never stay on budget 😳😩😕

How exciting! on all accounts. It must be amazing to be going on this journey together. I was thinking of you two as I climbed up a ladder tonight to paint my kitchen. I think I have done it 3 times since I moved here in 1998. My husband told me when we got married that he did not like painting!! as he was up the ladder painting our bedroom louvre wardrobe doors( I was pregnant). So I have done the rest of the house myself. I wish you both the best of luck and do you have a postal address- as I am in Australia and would like to send you something. Thanks for sharing.
