Thank You 🙏 Depending on the partnering equipment upstream both are very good choices...albeit with different flavour. Personally, my choice would be the Stenheim Alumine 5...as they speak more to my listening preferences.

Entreq Vibbeaters and HRS Dampling plate. However, they are not on the amp being used. I placed them on the other amp (Plinius) to damp the heat sink resonance from the from the music being played.

I no longer have the Plinius…finally made a decision to sell it as I was accumulating too much gear 😊. However, I do have quite a few videos with Plinius here on this channel.

Whilst this may not be a fair comparison given their size difference; Both Stenheim and Marten have their strengths. For me the Stenheim presents natural tones and colour...with stunning midrange presence. They are also less fussy and easier to drive...so maybe a better match in more set ups. I also suspect people with tube set ups will lean towards the Stenheim. Martens on the other hand are faster and more resolving overall (especially at the frequency extremes). Their staging is also better...with incredible depth and width to their presentation. This is apparent with complex music like classical orchestra. However, they are harder to drive and are more demanding of your upstream gear; Essentially they give you back what you put into them...all of which can end up becoming a rabbit hole...rather quickly.

@@DynamicAudiothanks. I have been thinking of getting a pair of Stenheim 3SE. I have a Dartzeel integrated CTH-8550 MkII. While I like it a lot, the integrated is known to have issue driving demanding speakers. Do you reckon my Dartzeel could drive the Stenheim adequately especially the bass department. My listening room is relatively small 10ft x 20ft

@@hansenkklam The Stenheim Alumine 3SE are very easy to drive and should be a very good match with your Dartzeel integrated. I have listened to this combination in smallish rooms...and I did not find them lacking in bass for most types of music. However, for complex music with high dynamic swings, bigger amps (with more drive and control) can potentially yield better results than almost any integrated amp. I say 'potentially' because the other important variable is your room...and how your speaker couples with your room acoustically. All else being equal this is perhaps the most important aspect to get right IME.
