Step 6 - Proper venting and drainage 

I went downstairs to bring Christmas stuff up and notice all this water. It's inside and outside of the housing of the furnace. Unbelievable amount of water collected in the furnace and still running down the white pvc pipe into furnace. I shut off power and vacuum up all the water and looking to clean trap but its too far inside furnace and beyond my degree to mess with something I have no clue. So I searched for this on utube to get a bit more of understanding the water problem collecting in my furnace. I came across your video. What a great job of showing us about the water and drainage. My Bryant 926ta was installed in 2016 and appointed in the install of the PVC pipes. I don't like they way they look outside too. Not straight . Hopefully I can post pictures. I give up and will call a professional on Monday. But I would like again to thank you for taking time out and sharing your video. I truly appreciated this very much! Tim

Incredible video!

So the intake pipe that goes horizontal through the wall to the outside, does that need to slope downward so that any wind driven rain does not run back down into the furnace? I have a horizontal concentric setup and whenever we get heavy rain water drips down my intake and into my furnace where I find a puddle on the floor. I noticed that the pipe going through the wall is sloped down towards the furnace which makes the rain water flow back to the furnace instead of the other way around. Was mine installed incorrectly?

The fresher intake that you have on top of the furnace is that located on the top of the furnace? Whenever I have my furnace maintenance the hvac person always take ot to the skink and washes the debris that is collected from the outer flue pipe and get lodges right on top of that little vent. Yesterday I had my furnace tune up and a younger havc person came and didn't have a clue of where to find that same little white gasket vent. Is it located on the top of the furnace? I would appreciate your help in this matter. And thank you. And just to let you know great job!
