A simple way of growing turnips in vegetable crate. All the way from sowing seeds to harvesting decent turnip bulbs. The same approach can be applied when growing turnips in raised beds or open garden.

It seems a common practice for people to automatically add lime to the soil mix and gardens. That makes the soil more alkaline. Turnips are okay with neutral soil and will go anywhere from 6.5 to 7.5 optimally. Just be aware that it's not an automatic add. It's not fertilizer.

Hello, that's correct. Lime is not fertilizer, nor is it necessary, but it is a cheap component of the soil mix that, even in small amounts, improves the soil structure. The reason I am not mentioning the amount in the video, is that I use about a handfull or two for the whole wheelbarrow of soil mix. It also makes soil nutrients more accessible to plants. Thank You for pointing out! ☺
