WOW you're amazing, thank you! Your explanations are very clear! I've done a lot of interpretations for approx 10 years... BUT I'm very new to translations (esp. using cat tools etc), so when I started to get serious about my side hustle (freelance translator), I was shocked by how little knowledge I had in having to use all these transcription, subtitling, cat tools (to name a few) in order to work efficiently as a translator, i.e., having to convert .srt files to .txt files, exporting the text file to cat tools such as smartcat tool, etc... Would you believe me if I told you that I've done some translation work in the past WITHOUT any of these tools?! No wonder why my employer told me that I'd need to educate myself on how to use all these tools (even though he was happy with the translation itself)?! I JUST learned how to use the Subtitle Edit tool, how to add subtitles and upload a VLC video file into the SE file, how to convert/export an .srt file to a .txt file, and how to use the Smartcat tool TODAY - after doing 10-12 hours of research ALL DAY long. (And I'm telling you, I've NEVER been good with technology...lol) Anyways... I just wanted to say THANK YOU for taking the time to explain how to use smartcat! Cheers!

Hello, great video. One question: I uploaed a pdf file to translate in Smartcat. Anyway, I could not see the open button to translate it. Does it mean Smartcat cannot handle pdf files? Regards,
