The best opaque white I have found is Doctor Martins opaque white. You can thin it and it is still opaque. I use it for calligraphy too. I think it would help your snow on the trees look more realistic. Thanks for the tutorial.

Wow what a great suggestion! Usually I suggest a white-out pen but a gel pen probably has a smaller point.

I love your work and I plan to plagiarize it! My only observation is that those don’t look like pine trees. They are most likely spruce or balsam.

Hi in our back garden we have a large grey shed that can be seen from our kitchen window..I’m thinking maybe of painting a scene on it in the spring. It’s a very big area and I’m not a painter,I’m in my seventies a complete novice and am thinking of either painting trees or flower scene to blend in with the garden. What paints do I use and any tips?

Pretty. However I suggest the right set of trees be larger. They are smaller than the ones in the distance so it's throwing perspective off.

Absolutely lovely.. Would appreciate naming the watercolors you use and some of the mixes… How does the green fade into a golden brown color ? Is it a certain granulating green… Or is it a mix of a golden brown and green ?

Do the same on a double size paper,write "Merry Christmas" on the bottom left,fold the paper in the middle and you have a beautiful Christmas card!!

There are FORTY kinds of pine trees and this could very easily be a pine tree…looks just like a eastern white to me!

I loved the overall painting but I have to say I loved it more before the snow. But yours looks very realistic, great job! I especially appreciate the lessons on the trees! I have had trouble with them in the past. I worked as a sculptor in an art bronze foundry and as the artist doing the paint patinas and it is hard to go from painting a sculpted piece to a flat surface paint job. I love how easy you make it look. Thank you so much!
