What a pleasure to watch these true craftsmen at work. Especially after paying good money and receiving sub-par metal and bodywork on my own project. This is an absolutely gorgeous 55 Belair.

Thanks Mark, sorry to hear about your situation.

@@metalworksclassicautoresto9583 Live and learn. It's giving me the "opportunity" to learn how to do some bodywork myself.

Has to be one of the best "55 Belair's out there. Stunning from top to bottom. I hope the owner of this fine machine appreciates every detail.

Another amazing finished product with top notch craftsmanship. Bravo. The only question I have is, if the customer planned to upgrade the entire car why not start with a project that wasn't in perfect shape in the beginning. Most people would've loved the car as is was before all the updates.

The plans for the build changed after it was discovered that the 55 had been hit hard in the rear at some point in its past.

Simply amazing, what’s time frame on that build and around a bout cost?

Since you started with what appeared to be a pretty nice and complete original car, sourcing little more than the body from it, considering all the metal repair and modifications, I have to ask why not just purchase and utilize a Woody's body?
@metalworksclassicautoresto9583
The 55 has some hidden damage that was revealed after acid dip that had to be addressed. We have done a few builds now with after market bodies and had to invest a great deal of metal work time into making the panel gaps acceptable and making the trim fit the body. It can really become a struggle when mixing an aftermarket body with factory sheet metal...doors, fenders, etc, and then trying to make factory or repop trim fit both factory and after market sheet metal. The labor hours can add up very fast. Nothing fits like factory, but good bodies/trim get harder to find every day.

I don't like that it was made off of what looked like an all original 55 chevy because I prefer all original but it's not bad

I agree. Customs are cool, hot rods are cool, all original cars are cool too. Just seems like a weird choice to go full blown resto mod on to me.

@@chevystuffs5971 I actually sometimes prefer hotrods and customs but it was very strange that instead of restoring one or getting a already started project they got an all original one. Just seems like more work and money to spend getting rid of the original features
