After watching this video about 3 times and taking notes, i finally tried it on my dad. It took a long time but by the end i was pretty impressed as it was my first time cutting hair or using clippers. I really like the comb and clipper technique you showed here, it made me feel like i have more control that i'd have had using clipper guards. Thanks for the video!
Best tutorial! Looked and tried a few videos before this and never understood what I was doing. You deserve more followers , great tutorial and got perfect result . Thank you
thank you sir, ive been watching a few other videos but this one was real clear and now i think im ready Update: the haircut went well! followed all the steps
Thank you for this video. Glad I found and follow you now. I loved how you broke up the top in 5 sections. It totally made sense to me, I have always struggled with blending. The holding the ear with the comb 🤯. I love learning little bits like that to make the big picture better. Thanks you 🙏🏼
Very good video detailing a basic haircut. Good point about detachable blades and potential ear cuts. The moving blade can easily try come into contact with the back of the client’s ear. I employ a centre, side by side scissor over comb technique as you do. Nice to see your Feather Artist Club SS razor at work.
Thinning shears if used properly can be used. Most barbers use them to much. They do work great for blending sometimes but not to much. Great video! I've got 28 years in now and the two styles I give the most are like this video and short military cuts. It's been that way here in Jamestown, ND. We don't get the newer styles around here. Just 90 miles away Fargo does though. I'm mainly in farm country. Funny how that works.
First street-- that was an excellent haircut not a bowl cut that you see other barbers do and the shave around the neck and ears was the way it used to be done a long time ago when I got a haircut in Detroit. On the back and sides try a 1 1/2or a 2 1/2 oster depending on the hair length and what the customer wants following the contour of the head saves time in blending so far you are the best on this site and cut hair the way it was in the past
Thanks for this tutorial. I haven’t cut my husbands hair for 20 yrs since I last accidentally trimmed top part of his ear. This pandemic has left me no choice but to attempt, wish me luck 😋
Reason why the cut looks fantastic on this client is because the barber follows the shape of the skull with his comb. Something that is a little challenging with clipper guards. Takes a while to develop this sense of mastery.
Great vid! I would have to disagree on the thinning scissors take but that’s the beauty of barbering there’s so many different techniques to do things! The way I look at it is if the industry is going to evolve we got to evolve with it 🤟
nice to see something other then a bald fade, those get boring to do and watch. great work, it seems like everything on you tube is bald fade, i love doing these types of haircuts.
nick i feel the same way im gona try n post a variety of what i do on a regular basis, definately more of these style cuts because i feel people need to see this procedure performed the most to be an overall well rounded barber, i learned from an old school barber and want to pass on the knowledge
@@firststreetbarbershop3326 thank you for passing your knowledge on! Some stylists dont like to pay it forward so i really appreciate that about you. I'm still trying to perfect clipper over comb so this really helps me. Great work and thank you!
This is the type of work I do on a daily basis. Great to see a demo like this, Very simple yet so inspiring. Thanks for sharing. I've subscribed. Looking forward to seeing more like this.
Please post more clipper over comb with explanation on how to do it...I have trouble with following guide and grabbing the right amount of hair...I tend to grab alot
How i badly wanted to trim my hubby hair with this style. My inquiring mind got pump up while drinking milk and having toasted crackers on a chilly midnight of May.
Thanks for this tutorial. I cut my husband's hair for the third time and this is the best one yet. However, it took me a really long time to finish and one of the reasons is that his hair is very fine, so even the fine tooth part of the comb wouldn't hold it well (even after I misted it). Does anyone have suggestions on how to do clipper over comb with someone who has hair so fine it simply falls out of the comb?
Nice cut man. If thinning scissors are misused they might not give the best cut you’re trying to achieve as part of scissor over comb. I’m not knocking your work because you did a nice cut on this guy. You and I just have our own preferences. Thanks for sharing you video. 👍🏽
hady hass I would prefer to blend it clipper over comb because it’s faster I like to save scissors over comb work for just doing some touch up at the end
I Don't like thinning scissors as well i believe that it's more for un professional barbers . We had a girl she used to blend the hair with thinning scissors the hair looked alright but not when the customers comes back after 1 week complaining of buffy hair.
It's a faster way of point cutting. People didn't like guards. Clipper over comb is what real barbers did. Same goes for clippers. Real barbers used scissors only.
I can accept some barbers prefer to use some tools on most of their haircuts. That fine. There are also experienced barbers who know when to use the appropriate tools to give the best cut to the client based on hair type. Maybe the girl as you call her hadn’t fully mastered using thinning scissors. We all will get better with time; didn’t you?
Carolina Barber 😀 Real barbers, the Master Barbers, didn’t limit themselves to certain tools. Some barbers, many barbers, perhaps, not only used scissors but also razors to cut hair. Have you ever used hand clippers? Real barbers used to use hand clippers too. IJS... 💈❤️
Good video, shouldn't really use a clipper comb for the top though, the tension needs to be stronger for the top and the fact it's awkward to flip the come back into your hand
Skullavakan Avakan thank you. It is called the Feather razor if you look it up on Amazon you should find it, about $100 itll be the last razor ull ever need very well made
