A better way for the girls to feel involved would be to give them 3 choices of flowers you are considering and let them pick one. Same goes for nail polish, shoes, and jewelry.

Powerplays and manipulation from that little one. Stamp that out early before you get married otherwise she'll rule the marriage.

What always strikes me the most with this show is how spread out the "disease" called people pleasing is. I loved what Robin said, she's spot on, and I always admire the few brides that are able to disappoint people and follow their gut, no matter how ugly their dresses are for the rest (including people commenting here). Ultimately, the point is not the dress but the ability to just be yourself - not an easy task, as we can see episode after episode.

That little girl was trying to be cute but actually she was being bratty.

Sorry but the wedding dress is NOT the most important dress in your life! People put too much importance on a wedding dress. My sister in law rented hers and now 23 years later, she no longer remembers it. It is not as important as many make it out to be. The marriage and man is important, NOT a wedding and the wedding dress. Many people marry more than once these days too.

the goldish coloured one is SO gorgeous. it looks amazing with her hair and skin. just need a matching veil not the white veil, and something more delicate and romantic. pick the dress you love! tell the little girls on their wedding day they can pick whatever dress they love too. and they can pick the dresses they want to wear to the wedding as well.

It's sweet to include the children in the appointment, but folly to give them veto power on the decision. There are plenty of other ways they can be included in planning for the big day.

What would have been better for the younger sister is to realize she’d been outvoted. Everyone else preferred the other dress, so let the younger daughter understand that sometimes you are outvoted. That’s realistic.

Absurd...how are you going to make a marriage work when you can't even choose your own wedding gown?

I get why people are saying that the two girls should not have been at the appointment. However, this is meant to be an opportunity for the bride to BOND with these girls. If she got a dress that disregarded their opinions entirely they're just going to feel rejected and like their new mother doesn't value their opinions. And yes, it's not logical but that how they will likely emotionally process it. I'm not saying the girls should dictate what the bride wears. But their opinions should be considered and their feelings on the subject validated which is what the bride did in the end.

Why not just let the girls pick out their own dresses, within reason?

for the first one - i think the girls were fed lines. however, it doesn't matter. marriage didn't last and by my best guess looking at maddi's, the mom and dad's fb pages, i think he's been married at least once more if not twice. she's with someone else, but i don't know how many marriages.

i usually cringe when a bride brings along a guy who "knows fashion," but this guy actually did know his stuff! the beaded belt punched the dress up a notch and he was right about the lines as well. it looks like it was designed to be part of that dress!

I thought it was a good bonding idea to bring the girls wedding dress shopping. In the big picture the relationship between her and the girls is far more important than the wedding dress. It was also a great teachable moment for the girls on how to express their opinions without being mean. The older girl caught on to this lesson and realized it was important to the bride to they like the same dress. The younger girl did not catch that from what we could see but I’m sure someone had a talk with her.

I can’t believe that dress was under $2000! It did have that couture look and looked much more expensive. Lucky for her she picked “heads”, because it has more weight on that side and it tends to come up 90% of the time.

No one’s coming to my bridal dress appointment! Besides, I think it’s a setup. What little girl wouldn’t love that dress?! That’s ridiculous.

If she had let a 5 yr old pick out her dress, that girl would be testing her the whole marriage. That girl was seeing how much power her stepmother was actually going to give her. If Jamie doesn’t grow more of a spine, the girl is going to be a brat.

The kids are not "opinionated," they are brats. If she lets them get away with choosing her dress, they'll continue to push her for everything. Bride needs to pick her own dress.

These little girls are advanced for their age, agreed. But they need to know their place and let adults make their own decisions about adult stuff. that lady also needs to not give in that much to two little girls who don't know what they are talking about! Last dress? Yeah, maybe the sparkle belt was better for that groom (who might have considered a new hairstyle for the wedding). The sash is more elegant.
