People let kids take WAY too many liberties with the way they talk to adults anymore. She was showing out and could have worded that more politely, if she needed to say it at all. I would have been scared to death to say something like that to an adult at that age, and if I somehow let it fly out of my mouth, my mother would have been right there to slap some sense back into me.

We don´t know what the child has been through to get to this point: his father marrying a woman who is not her mother. It is either a divorce - or worse. So let´s go easy on a little girl coping with her new situation. I think it is great that the bride to be includes her new little step-daughter in the big occasion. It will pay off in the long run. ❤

You know it is not the girl's fault she has been taught to be like this, but her bio parents have raised an indulged child who hasn't had boundaries set, twught about respect and kindness. It is a disaster brewing for a very belligerent, even more outspoken, rude, nasty teenager who will be a bully and swan about as if she is the best and prettiest person alive. Those parents need to grow up and realise l9ve foes not equal letting your child fo ad thry want.

An 8-ytear-old girl whose father is getting remarried holds a significant number of cards in the deck. She's already referring to herself as the bride, and the adult bride is going along with it. Will the couple be able to vacation alone? When Dylan misbehaves, who will be the disciplinarian? How will Dylan react if they have a new child together? There are numerous ways to include her in the wedding preparations without giving her authority to make decisions on behalf of the adults. @@mekairahbey3274

I agree 💯 step children with no boundaries can ruin a marriage.. Because the dad probably let her have her way and the step mom don't want to lose the dad so she lets her do and say what she wants.

I agree! I raised a feisty, sassy daughter but I taught her respect and manners, while making sure she kept the feistiness and sass in her back pocket for when she NEEDED it. Now I’m raising my granddaughter and she is the same and we are teaching her the same. Manners and respect, but keep that feistiness and sass in your back pocket. This little girl is just a brat. Also, at 8 years old a kid usually knows better than to blurt out “that makes your butt look big” IF they’ve been taught manners and some tact. I would expect that from maybe a 3,4, or even a 5 year old but not an 8 year old. They did end up getting beautiful dresses, but even the attendant suspected the little girl said she liked the moms dress just so she could start trying on dresses herself. 🤔

precisely... although.. had I married before my lovely Mum had died I would have taken her along with me. She was totally non judgemental and had a very good eye. She would have gently said if it wasn't right but not dominated me with her opinion.

I agree. I brought my mom and my one sister. They know what I do and don't like and helped me make the best decision for myself.

Yeah, maybe take them to pick out their flower girl dress at the same time your getting your dress fitted. That way you get to spend time dress shopping together without having to cater to the child’s taste. As a bonus, they get to feel special because they still see your wedding dress before everyone else.

I’m Catholic too. You really never realized that first communion dresses look like little bridal gowns?? They even have a veil sometimes!

@@papagena1 We don't wear veils and our dresses are usually knee length, so I think they don't immediately look like bridal gowns. I was 7 years old when I had my first communion. I don't look at such young girls and think about brides. x)

same here in the UK and Ireland. I wore a veil to mine 60 years ago as well. Traditional.

Children understand that they don't have the ability to be in charge and get insecure and afraid when an adult isn't in charge. The effects of things we endure as children may not manifest til we're adults. I was lost in addiction in my adult years, but I wasn't yet a practicing drunk when I was five. See how that works?
