I love how much they’ve leaned into the serpent aesthetic for Jade. Especially the Serpent of Eden (the snake with an apple in it’s mouth), which is obviously quite a strong example of the “poison in the guise of sweet dew” approach that she loves so much.
EN sounds more playful in a very manipulative way, JP sounds more dominant and slightly unhinged,. Both very fitting for her character, they both did such an amazing job!
I don't think her EN voice is fitting, it's a great voice but it's too soft and delicate for a character who literally steps on the people she has put into submission
@@paradossale I personally think it's perfect, for me it conveys pretty well that idea of "looks harmless, could kill you". And honestly, I think the playfulness just adds up to how threatening she is, because she isn't taking the situation seriously even though it's putting someone's life at stake
What caught my interest is, the IPC grunt being tortured in the EN version sounds like he is enjoying it. But in the JP version, he sounds terrified as all hell on what jade is gonna do to him. Pretty much sums up the duality of jade. Dommy mommy yet you can legit fear her
I realize in the boothill trailer he got the bounties for Jade topaz and aventurine or the ipc in general. But for a bounty to work the location of where they are needs to be given. Maybe the IPC members being punished were the whistleblowers
It's so refreshing to see such an evil character w/o having a redemption arc be a pullable character. Never mind giving her redemption, they just keep making her more evil, I really love hsr for this, hopefully Sunday stay consistent too.
The problem is that jade isn’t really evil perse she’s very much a morally grey character. She’s always played as more of the “ give you wat you want with a price” which is in any necessarily evil. Neither is Sunday, by all accounts every action Sunday has made wasn’t inherently evil mans at best is just misguided in his beliefs
I kind of wish they incorporated more snake motifs in her actual design because it feels like it’s missing something… like having her clothes or a bag made of snake scales because it feels pretty bland… the big hat is different but I want something to actually do with her snake motif because of the whole deal with the devil and snake is the garden of eden choice for her… they paired her with Sunday for a reason In the trailer there was even a shot of a guy getting crucified and he was covered in thorns with a bunch of snakes. Sunday even has a crown of thorns since if you look at his halo it has thorns on it, they’re obviously using biblical references so I wonder why they didn’t incorporate it more into design because she’s hot and all… but not too interesting besides the big hat…
Jade’s splash art represents a biblical reference to the tree of Knowledge where Eve ate the fruit from that tree after speaking to that snake suggesting her to do it. My guess is that Jade represents Eve, the tree behind her is the tree of Knowledge, and the snake on the tree is what I previously mentioned.
I think this trailer has too many weird grainy filters. It's still good, but I agree that it's not as good as most of the other Penacony trailers. It's about even with Aventurine's.

Somehow I ended up spending most of my Stellar Jades on her and mind you I'm f2p. She took away like 90 something pulls (lost a 50/50 to Welt which I'll take) and now I'm left with enough stellar jades for 40-ish pulls. Not to mention I really wanted Huohuo who is on the next banner 😭😭😭. I'm also torn on weather or not I should invest in Sparkels.
In case you don’t understand the snake. She’s basically the Serpent, the deceiving serpent. She’s basically giving people a deal where they do something but she also takes something from them in the process like her skill

Honestly, I'm not surprised at this point, but I think you also (Hopefully) Should pull for Firefly with Analisa Fischer and/or Adin Rudd (Firefly and SAM's respective VA's) as well. Not gonna lie, but I'll definitely Smash Jade though.... But I'm taking charge of things and let her follow through. Last time I remember seeing a Snake, it was the Dance scene where Acheron took the lead from Black Swan in "Rhondo across countless Kalppas". Hopefully we don't find out that Black Swan lied about her identity as well, or end up seeing Jade and Black Swan Fight to the Death in Penacony.
man, a good amount of penacony has biblical inspiration, and if it wasn't obvious enough with jade and sunday, there was also a crucified ipc worker in the trailer, which was crazy ngl
Im pulling for her but no plans to build her up any time soon. will level and get to a useful point trace wise, but probably wont go full speed with relics like i did for firefly
Honestly I was also surprised by how sensual the trailer was compared to other trailer thought is was mid because it is just sensual, we dont really get much insight into the character. I was planning on skipping and this didn't change it. But good luck to everyone pulling
