My brother, helped me when I was young. I had someone who was less then desirable they where violent my big brother just looked at him the day I came home with my baby. He didn't say anything just looked. Didn't hear from him agian.
I think with older siblings it's always "I can do what I want to you but if anyone else does, they're dead" 😂 if burn the world down for my younger sister if she needed me to
To the step daughter who believes her father, A HARD HEAD MAKES A SOFT BEHIND! She'll find out how her father and his side of the family is all about in the future when she is a little older. Hopefully it's not too late to establish a relationship with her brother and stepfather.
First, OP should never have allowed them to stay from day one. Second, I initially was worried about Mona until she and father showed their true colors and she started partying in the house. After that they both needed to go. 😻😁😻
Thank God for Alex!! OP was absolutely spineless. I would have went the Alex route myself instantly. No way I would have let that crap go on that long.
When in grief one dose not have the best brains to make decisions, that is why it is recommended not to make major decisions until a year after the death.
Great solution! Mona deserves no pity and she didn't even suffer any repercussions for what she did. The only thing that could have backfired was if Alex had been charged with assault. Even so, OP would have been rid of them, and Alex could have pointed to very severe provocations that incited his attack.
Letting them stay the first night, given that Mona's mother had died, was perfectly reasonable. Letting them stay any longer than the next weekend was foolish.
The really sad part is that it sounds like OP would have been happy to help Mona but she chose to stick with her father doing shady things instead of accepting the help.
No doubt about it. OP shouldn't have allowed Mike in the house to begin with. But at a funeral gathering you can't watch who comes in while grieving and attention is barely on the process of it. Good to have had Alex to help out though could have had more trouble for both him and OP. But Mike's out.
Op needs to kick step daughter and her drunk or druggie father out! Op has a young son and having a useless man living in Op's house could cause problems especially if that father is using drugs.
I don't usually condone violence but sometimes it has to be done. OP's brother Alex is the MVP. You should never allow anybody to get even a whiff of being allowed to stay if you do not want to unless you are ready to deal with idiotic reasonings and squatter's right.
OP should not have let Mona's father stay at the house at all! If he did not want to leave Mona by herself, she should have gone home with her father. She is also 19 years old (5+4+ 10 yrs +19)) and an adult - she did not need a guardian. It is sad that OP and Mona are estranged - I bet he would have paid for her college education.
Mike got what he deserved. He's spent his whole life throwing around his physical weight to get what he wants, until he had to face someone who wasn't intimidated by that.
OP. You should have called the police immediately as soon as you told them to get out and they refused. If Mike was using drugs, you had grounds there. He was drinking and you should have just called them. And I do believe that when Mona had her parties your parents should have called the police. When mom and grandma would come into the house and be rude and belligerent to your parents, call the cops. You had proof that your name was on the house, and you were a legal owner, Mona did not. Damn man, I do not understand how you allowed yourself to be so used and abused by a man you knew was an abusive scumbag that you should also have realized you wife would not have expected you to be kind to. Glad they are out, but you took way to long and you didn't prove you were kind or the better person. You sort of proved you were a spineless victim.
Mike and Mona were squatters, nothing more and nothing less. I'm pretty sure Mona was over eighteen and didn't need Mike to be her guardian in OP's house. Mike was just using Mona to claim what wasn't hers to claim in the first place.
Mike has absolutely NO reason to stay at your house beyond the mourning ie-- just a few days. Good for Mona helping her little brother. Everyone needs an Alex. Though I would have told Mike's mother and sister 'Oh so good you are here... YOU can pack Mike's stuff up and help Mona, it's time for you all to leave.' Mom and sis can go home and unpack Alex while Mona waits for Alex. They'll come to yours at whatever time Mike returns. Sounds like poor Mona is growing up being a classic enabler. She's young enough but will not go to Al-Anon until she chooses to. If you want her to see you son, it is your choice but a) it should definitely be in public places with you (and no Mike) present AND on condition of her regular attendance at Al-Anon meetings (or therapy if she's still on your insurance, doubt Mike has any.) She's young enough to get her head and heart straight or else she will bounce through guy after guy just like Mike.
Nta. Your stepdaughter and her father are not your responsibility nor do they have any right in your house. Throw them out. Do not let them establish residency. You might have to sell your place and move
Get him out ASAP. Once he gets mail it becomes a court case. In the mean time Lawyer up, get your documents together, Then evict. The daughter can either believe you or him. Mona doesn't have a right to anything .She left and my guess is she is of legal age by now. I'm a little concerned about the brother hitting the Dad? Instead he should have just lifted him up and dropped him out the window.
Calling the cops is not always the solution. OP did the right thing calling his brother to handle the situation. Mona's father really did her an injustice shoving his way into the house and brainwashing his daughter. Glad everything turned out fine.
In my younger days I was a fighter. Not a professional fighter, but someone that would start bar fights for the fun of it. I would confront any jerk causing a problem like a bully, just to get the chance to beat them up. So, I would have put Mike out the door the first day. Stepdaughter would then get to choose weather to stay or go with her father. But Mike would already be in the front yard before I would ask her what she was doing.
Wow #1 step daughter or not she wouldn't have been in my home especially if she wouldn't be there while her mother was alive.#2 her father would've never stepped one foot inside my home period!!! You have to be the softest person I've ever seen OP. No one has the right to do the things that you allowed those two leeches to do. Wow just wow thank God for your brother because he had the sense to do what you were too afraid to do
There is no way in hell, Lily and her father could even stay for a night legally. They were trespassing and it was illegal. OP could have called the cops get them thrown out. Even the cops don't have any authority in such cases. Whoever that lawyer was who told OP that the case would be dragged if taken to the court, must be a joker. People in such situations read a little about the law and understand them. These lawyers don't show interest in cases where they don't get paid big. They will talk to you as if it were a pizza order gone wrong, and will try to fill your head with all unwanted stuff to delay the development. This was a open and shut case. All that OP had to do was call the cops and kick that deadbeat out of the house, Lily would have eventually followed him. OP just turned out to be a scared coward letting them to walk all over him, in-spite of having everything to prove him he was in the right.
I think to a great degree Mona was manipulated by Mike through out her child hood, but in the end the choices were hers. she didn't have to throw loud parties or take over a seven year olds room, she didn't to call in aunty loud and granma bitchy, but she did.
Thats when you hire some thugs to wait and GREET him with wooden shampoo applications inside his room . While they apply plenty of wooden shampoo on his scalp in a very VIGOROUS manner
Personally, I think Mona’s father was being manipulated by her. I think that was why she wasn’t saying anything every time OP confronted them. Mona knew her father was hard headed and that she had him wrapped around her little finger. He probably figured they could outlast OP in this “battle of wills”. OP was grieving so much that he wasn’t thinking enough and wasn’t strong enough to do what he really needed to do. Mona and her father pushed it to far though in a house that wasn’t theirs and they weren’t even welcome at.
OP banging on door is like my aunt mowing or just barging in I know he had good reason so it's not about OP but sheesh my aunt never respects that two ppl work nights shifts in this house and as we live in a valley noise bounces all over the place 😡😡😡 and if ask her to mow later like 3-5pm she thinks you're hiding something literally 😒😒😒 and comes even earlier usually between 1-2pm but say something SHE COMES AT 10am-12pm instead she's like her evil mother a control freak and doesn't like when someone tells her off my brother goes in later then my dad so the mowing doesn't bother him but my dad he goes in at 5 day workers never care about night workers 😡😡😡😡
Why didn't op just call in the big guns, aka Alex's muscles, from the start? I love Alex for giving Mike the whooping he deserved. I have no sympathy for Mona. She's not a child anymore. I can't stand when women choose to side with abusive toxic men. She's her father's daughter for sure. It was obvious they were going to try to live there long enough to claim squatter's rights or turn the police on op for illegal evicting them. I would have called the police the moment they refused to leave the house.
Mike really stupid as he was a glutton for punishment. When you get your ass whipped bad, a smart person would know when to call it quits and live to fight another day. Not Mike, he continues to be defiant, get beat down again and had to be dragged away by Mona. Got to know when to quit while you're ahead. He got what he deserved as he abused Mona's mom in the past.
Oh god give it up. 13 percent of the population feel they should be represented the majority of the time. So sick of this woke bs and perennial victim mentality people have
Pretty sure Mike took advantage of his daughter's feelings and made her love him more than her mom. I wouldn't be surprised if was at least partly "payback" for leaving him and getting together with op. I'm not surprised that Mike blamed op for his marriage failing despite the logic behind it, which tells he refuses to accept that he's at fault and wants to blame someone else. Typical that he tried to accuse his ex wife of cheating on him rather than accept that he's the problem. It was probably also to try to get money from her and then he goes to try to blame op🤦. Yep, I was right. He took advantage of his daughter and did his best to turn her against her mom plus op out of spite and vengeance, it's beyond disgusting and selfish to do that to your own kid. Update, typical that he's tries to play that she was his wife too so he has a right to stay at the house. Yet again he tries the dumb logic that because his daughter is there he can be there. Update 2, not surprised that mike STILL refused to leave after that. He's an entitled man child. Why am I not surprised that Mike made up that Mona had a share of half the house when it all belonged to op. He's trying to take everything from op out of hatred for op being with his ex wife. Update 3, to show her true colors shows that she's just like her dad. She probably also wanted to take everything from op out of hatred. And to be scared that op was going to hurt her? Begs the question of what lies her dad has told her, probably trying to make the psycho villain instead of him. Why am I not surprised that even after the beating he STILL insulted op and tried to threaten to ruin him. Just tells how much he despises op and mad that he's getting to stay in the house. It's on Mona that she chooses her vile dad despite his horrid behavior and his lies. I doubt she would even listen to the truth.
I would have handled it a bit differently, there is this wonderful aerosol spray called Liquid Ass, it smells horrid but only lasts a short time. I would have been spraying it into their rooms and anywhere they were until they left.
Awe, poor baby 🤦🏾🤦🏾♀️ grieving and being hustled. He's a deadbeat hence he wants another man to provide for his kids BC he won't. That's why they moved in in the first place 💯 Mona is the same, draining resources like her Dad trained her to do. What about Mona's college ❓ Mike won't pay anything towards that 😡YES, LOVE THIS ENDING 😂🤣😅😭 GOOD OLE ARSE WHOOPING 💯
OP should just Speak Up He’s a wussy guy “How long you staying here, what’s plan”. on night One. He had to offer or set up a room didn’t he? I lost *my* patience with OP by 9 minutes into the video
Hmmm, a mechanic with no morals that acted that fast to try and extort money... the daughter sneaking her dad in and having parties and rude guests over? Was it really a accident? (Probably) Was the daughter a accomplice even if she was manipulated? Yes. Still, teens make mistakes. I could see her being hurt over her choice and missing out on time with her mom and wanting to live the good life her brother had. I mean... she showed up at her mom's house and saw how they were living a struggle free life. I don't think she was innocent. But things can be more complicated. Her dad was a raging pile of dog stuff that sticks to your shoe tho. I can't see any senario where he is a good man.
@@Doggypaddle8 The dad was no way going to allow someone to stay and take half his house tho. He actually was beyond kind for offering to allow her to stay. He did not have to do that.
I would not feel bad for his daughter because she manipulates her step father by pretending to be there to consol her brother when the hole time helping her father into trying to take over the house.
Probably thinks that it was in the ex’s name and that her daughters name would be on the will. The scummy dad lied about her cheating and Mona believed him
Makes no sense. Mona and mike did not have residency there comma or live there comma they were simply guests 3 weeks. So there's no reason why o p would have to go through an eviction process.
Story 1: I wouldn’t have put myself in that position in the first place? If you don’t learn how to stand up for yourself and realize the power of the word NO, you will be at fault for letting people walk all over you. It’s absolutely NOT selfish to say no. I don’t understand how difficult this is for some people. The more you say no, the easier it gets. Kick them both out. Stepdaughter chose her dad over her mom. Why should you be obligated to care for her. Her bio-dad is still a huge part of her life. Put you and your sons needs first. Take out the trash before it leaves stains on your life.
I think I would have first of all not allowed them to stay that long before confronting them on their intentions. Then once they made it clear why they though they had a reason to stick around I would made it clear why they didn't have a legal claim on my property and then told them they had to clear out ASAP or else I would be calling the police to escort them off the property. Period. Once the police showed up I would have presented my proof of ownership of the home. If they wnated to challenge me in court they would be told that they are welcome to do so but since they don't have any proof, go right on ahead and wast what little money they have anyway.
Can I just say, if they didn't have much money due to COVID lockdown and limited jobs, I kind of understand needing a place to get back on your feet, but leeching off someone who isn't your family for an extended period isn't okay either way
First , kick this drunk out. Fast. Then i would talk to the daughter , seeing what her plans are. If she comes off as ungrateful , it may be time to adk her to leave. Never put up with a step child that abusive. . Good kuck
It’s unbelievable that “squatters rights” even exist. Squatters are in a place illegally. How can they have more rights than the person / people who own the property? That makes NO sense to me at all.
In Texas, squatters rights were introduced if someone occupied an area that had been abandoned or neglected, so the land doesn't go to waste. However, it takes a long time for a squatter to lay claim on a property and a lot of hoops to jump through. 1. Occupy a place with the color of title for at least 3 years. 2. Occupy the property, pay all property taxes and cultivate the property for at least 5 years. (This is where they mostly fail) 3. Occupy and improve the land for at least 10 years All of these fail in this case, so OP could have called the police and have them arrested for trespassing.
You should have said something immediately after the funeral! You have family support for you and your son. Honestly why did you let them even attempt to stay?! 6:20 into the story. I’ll add more frustration when I’m done
Something tells me Mike is known by the police and he wouldn't have had any help from them while he was trying to squat in his ex-wife's and her husband's home.
This is my honest opinion if I was in the original poster shoes I would have called the cops I'm sorry to say this but the original poster purposely let this abuse happened to himself and his own parents literally for nothing and there would have been no reason for his older brother to get involved to the point where he literally could have gone to jail I don't understand why the original poster was so scared of getting the cops involved all he needed to show was documentation that the house was his and a copy of his wife's will also showing and no way does it talk about his house being a part of the inheritance of her will that's literally it then the police literally would have kicked out Moana and her father I don't understand what was the point of the original poster literally putting himself and like I said his parents and even to a small extent his older brother through with that bullshit to begin with and I'm sorry if I'm being a little harsh with my language but the story kind of pissed me off because such lady balls just let people steamroll them in their own house and also I don't have sympathy for the step-daughter Moana she chose her terrible deadbeat father nobody was manipulating her in that situation and the way her behavior comes about in the story truly shows the type of person she is it truly shows that she's just as bad as her father now I can understand a Mona had moments where it was mentioned in the story that she was being very conflicted with her so her dad in the original poster and understandably by the end of the story she wants to you know stay with the original poster and you know actually get to know him that way she can so close in the home that her mother once used to live but nope instead this woman and her father had ulterior motives and the fact that she went so far along with her father truly shows that
Albert your post took me a min to read. Literally. But by the end it all came together, Literally. Kidding aside, I agree 100% with what you said. That Moana was a scammer once Mike flopped down in OP house.
I had a bunch of bums come into my house and my son let them in. They refuse to leave I called the police but they said since my son let them in I had to pay for eviction notice to get them out of the house. The problem with the eviction notices as soon as I got one out of the house they let two more people in or more. The police refuse to show up at my house. It all came to a head one day when one of them kicked in the door and started beating my son over the head with the board. I bought up buying plywood and covered all the doors and windows with it. Eventually I sold the house. The people who bought it rebuilt the house and made it look really nice. Of course the squatters did nothing but tear up my and steal my things. I don't know if the people who bought it rented it out earlier did it themselves but the homeless people come and took back over it. Is kind of sad that when these people get into a house they think it's theirs to keep. Being a single mom I bought that house for me and my kids without any child support or any help from any man. I sold it at a significant loss. One of the people that lived in my house is now in jail for murder.
Omg I would be in a mental facility somewhere out of state. Talk about sleep with one eye open. You poor woman. Do you think your sons "friends" may have been a bit wacked out on methamphetamine? I hope you're doing well my friend.
