Today, I went to Stephanie's concert in Japan for the first time and listened to this song performed live. It was very cool !! After the concert, I bought her CD, had her autograph it, and the photos we took together are my treasures. Thank you for coming to Japan, Stephanie!!
Such a rich palette of sounds, rhythmic and dynamic effects, all refreshed with washes of chromaticism, like the sorbet between courses, and Jobim's music is the winner. A stunning player with a feast of an arrangement. Delicious. Hungry for more.
As always, Stephany Jones plays superbly, with well controlled expressive way. Maintaining clear melody, and explosive disonance chord and bass line whenever necessary. Bravo.
Absolutely superb, swings when its needs to , the dynamic usage is splendid. I am not crazy about some of the major 7ths moving around ,, but overall what a superlative performance. You have great stage presence, confident , but not the least bit arrogant, You have a perky pixie thing happening which is like a breath of fresh air in the male dominated guitar world,OH and those 64 triplet figures are DOPE . I k am a graduate of Juilliard (10 yrs) have a grammy for Titanic and recorded over a 1000 sessions a lot of swing stuff with Bucky Pizzarelli,,and George Benson, I LOVE nylon string guitar, anyhow I am a big fan of you , your playing , and wish you every bit of good luck in this challenging time. ( I am a violiinist , Paul Peabody)
E' proprio una felicidade ascoltare una interpretazione di una melodia così bella con tanta maestria e bravura da una giovane chitarrista come te alla quale auguro un meraviglioso futuro musicale fantastico,
Ms Jones, I am awe at your execution and interpretation of guitar music. I had the opportunity to watch you in concert last year in Denver. What a wonderful concert. I admit I was Star struck, you signed my CD while I stood foolishly silent with just a smile. I can only hope you come back for another concert.
What? No comments? Can't believe that. Let me straighten all of you out... Stephanie Jones is terrific! My advice is take a long dive into all of her videos and you'll be happy as a clam in a sandbank.
wearing the same blue top you did in owings mills 3/11/23 and i talk 2 U after your perfect performance...you always leave me breathless..its your deep emotion you cant help showing . a true window to your soul .so beautiful ❤️
again, your passion and the guitar speak directly to the gods of music itself, and they are many! your smile at 1.50 or so is contagious, I love watching you performing! 2.39 and 2.48 smiling again. I have heard you play this before, but this time, absolutely WOW!
sick AF. classical guitarists are so underrated and under appreciated 😂 I play lots of pretty tough fingerstyle songs but every time I see these pieces I just cant ... Tim Henderson's Polyphia songs are more "learn-able" for me than this 😂 bravo 👏🏻
I’ve listened this and Dyens versions dozens of times as I’m adapting it to another instrument, and I fully believe that this is a more rewarding performance. Stephanie’s brings out more sub-melodies and motifs, and is so lyrical compared to Dyens’ almost violent approach. I also think her edits really sharpen the piece.
Un tema muy hermoso, muy bien interpretado, pero lastimosamente los gestos de la intérprete muestran más como un dolor agri acido que no corresponde con la dulcura de la composición
