Basically it comes down to Canelo is getting criticized for fighting the fighters he used to get accused of avoiding at a time he's being accused of not fighting fighters.

I'm not going to say Canelo is afraid of David, but at this point, it's blantly obvious that he does not want to fight the guy...

The double standards are ridiculous. It took Bud literally half a DECADE to make one unification at 147 while facing NO other reigning champs during that entire time, yet I didn't see video after video of people criticizing Bud even as he was fighting gatekeepers on his 1 fight a year schedule. And since the Spence fight, Bud flat out said he wasn't looking to fight either his 147 mandatory Boots Ennis or 154 unified Charlo, but he's allowed to pick and choose while praised as #1 P4P? As for Canelo, he fought NINE reigning champs during the time it took Bud to face ONE, including unifying 3 belts at 160, 4 at 168 and challenging 2 champs at 175, plus other defenses. AND he never even ruled out fighting Benavidez like Bud with Boots, AND Canelo's mandatory isn't even due, and yet he still gets criticized because people expect him to fight everyone at once. As for Benavidez, the only person who ever held him back was himself by TWICE dumping his WBC belt, publicly rejecting a unification with Plant under his manager Sampson, never fought his mandatory Callum Smith, and rejected a 175 title shot even after being stripped from blowing weight by 3 pounds. Benavidez had the chance to be the top dog both at 168 and 175 but instead he preferred being another guy in the crowd hoping for his number to be called. And Benavidez still isn't doing anything next level, he's the biggest dude at 168 yet just fought a guy who'd never faced a champ even in the lower divisions but you guys criticized Canelo who's a natural lower division guy himself for facing a fellow undisputed champ? The funny part is Atlas who Stephen referenced suggested Canelo would need help from the judges to get past Mell prior to the fight, but turned around and gave him no credit when he exceeded his expectations. That's the thing with Canelo, critics hold him to an entirely different standard, even changing goalposts and narratives overnight to not give him his due. He's fought more champs than anyone as it stands but gets criticized for not fighting every fighter in every division at once while other guys are the ones not putting in the same work. Stephen even downplays Canelo moving up to face Bivol who was the most difficult stylistic opponent on top of the next level leap in weight, when beside himself the only other modern ex welter to even become champ there was 6'1 ATG Hearns.

Al Haymon seems to be the only promoter who doesn't receive the same media criticism the other promoters would for not putting his two star fighters in the matchups the fans want to see. It's not just Canelo because Tank also doesn't fight the top fighters available. Not long ago the lightweight division had Loma, Devin, Teo, and Tank. Tank is the only one who has none of them on his resume.

158 or 160 is not a realistic weight to meet for Canelo & Crawford. If it was to be a catch weight 166 would be most reasonable weight. Also Benavidez is already the mandatory after he beat Caleb Plant who fought in a WBC elimination against Dirrell. Mauricio even said at the last convention the winner out of Plant/Benavidez is the absolute mandatory for Canelo they made that the final eliminator.

Exactly what’s wrong with boxing. It’s always been that way a little but it’s been so bad the last 20 years or so it’s ruined the sport. And it’s not always the fighter at fault, but you don’t avoid someone because you think you’ll win.

He is the undisputed 168 pounder champ, he have all the belts at 168 pounds, he just fought a 154 pounder in Jermell Charlo, the contenders at 168 pounds need a shot at the titles, if he isn't gonna defend his titles against 168 pounders he should vacate them

Because Alvarez knows Benavedez is a natural light heavyweight. Benavedez is skilled technically, but he has been fighting below his natural weight class. Benavedez used to be heavy (fat) and he lost weight, but that heavier weight (strength) stayed with him. Canelo fighting Benavedez with be like when he fought Divol.

Benavidez is a monster but he is not on that level yet 28-0 he needs a couple NOTABLE fights or make a statement by fight Bivol. Stephen needs to bring in Max for boxing analyst 😂

At the time of this post, the fight has not been announced. But I dont get why Stephen is soo disgusted. Crawford - Canelo publicly announced on national television no intrest in fighting Crawford due to being in widly diffrent weight classes. Jermall - his last fight was 11/25/2023, there should not be any excuses. If Jermall feels he is unfit or unprepared, he should not take the fight.

That fight will not happen, because it will not sell. None of it is worth the debate. I guarantee you the fight will never be sanctioned.
