I don’t think guys that dribble the air out the ball to score in isolation help their team win championships. Look at lebron. I don’t like him but he routinely makes the right play and he’s gone to how many finals? Look at the warriors, they don’t really force shots. Steph and Klay don’t count cuz they are the two greatest shooters ever. When the spurs were winning, it was team ball. Look at Phil’s teams, mike and Kobe would dominate the ball, but they were still in a system that emphasized team play. Yeah the point guard thing could make us a lot better than some are expecting. We finally have an above average point guard and Rose and Quickley as backups. Could change the whole trajectory especially if RJ comes back better along with some of the other young guys and hopefully Julius will be back to looking like his MIP season with a good point guard feeding him or running pnr again instead of him bringing the ball up the court and constantly isolating all the time. I think if we get Mitchell we could actually be surprisingly good but if the chemistry is weird on defense with the two small guards it might not be much better than with just Brunson, idk.
