I recall in 1974, my aunt went through nursing school, & applied for a job at a doctor's office in downtown Louisville, KY. It was amazing that, at that time, many employers were very 'open' about overall test scores. My aunt was denied the position, & a black nurse (within 4 years same age) was hired. The black nurse scored an 81%, and my aunt score was a 97%. Big difference. And, here we are today. ✅

That fact black people got in trouble if they knew how to read during slavery, we did not receive the same education that white Americans had. We weren’t even considered a full human being. So of course white privileged people will test better. That does not mean we can’t do the same jobs and excel in the same fields as whites. We were set up to fail and be behind in education. Affirmative action levels the playing field
@superiorsoundsmusic5389
@superiorsoundsmusic5389 10 месяцев назад
Lmao test scores does not mean they were the best person for the job for example social/community understanding is important, if they were staffing in a community with more black patients it would make sense to hire more black people. Also the black person could’ve had more experience working in hands-on situations that outweigh the white person. I myself got into my masters program not because I had the best grades, but because I worked 2 to 3 jobs as an undergrad and gained a lot of practical experience that outweighed the grades. Looking at race just means that they might not have the best grades because of the conditions that our society forced them to be in that makes them have to work two or three jobs to get by, instead of someone who had not and have more time to focus on their grades. And there are plenty more examples but who cares lol

Stephen. Do you understand that it is not the supreme courts job to tell you what they like and what they don’t like. Their job is clear and simple. They pass judgment on whether things are in line with and it here to our constitution. If you want things to be based on race, then all you need to do is get enough people elected to Congress and the Senate and then see if they can make a change to the US Constitution to support institutional racism which is exactly what affirmative action is.
