@Junkay2 It hard to say. Maybe ask one of his previous victims. In 2021, Neely socked a 67-year-old woman as she exited the Bowery station in the East Village in Lower Manhattan. The woman sustained a broken nose, a fractured orbital bone, and "bruising, swelling and substantial pain to the back of her head" in the Nov. 12 attack.

In assaults such as these they always tell you about the physical injuries, but leave out the long-lasting psychological scars. A person never fully recovers from this kind of thing. I was attacked by 3 men in a parking lot when I was 19 and severely beaten. Even today I still think about it and constantly look over my shoulder, suspicious of others. That was 45 years ago.

Why doesn't the city take some of those tax dollars and pay for a trained, uniformed, police security unit to properly safeguard the subway passengers, rather than always relying on "hero volunteers" and "vigilantes" to provide the protection you crave by just standing by and watching somebody else wringing the neck of every mentally ill person that happens to be riding on the train.

Do you ride NyC subways? Last year 2 homeless people shot up a train. Another smeared feces on a woman’s face. Another near my job randomly attacked a woman with a knife. Don’t nobody got time to wait to be attacked. It’s sad what happened, but Mr. penny is not to blame. the Mayor needs to do more to help the homeless and protect pedestrians

I would feel much more comfortable if the city officials would insist on having the subway protected by uniformed security police, rather than rely on some citizen vigilante to just happen to show up if I feel threatened by a mentally ill person or criminal wanting to rob me. Right now the sign on the trains should read: "Travel at your own risk". Rather than cheer-on Penny as a "hero" the city needs to get off its back pocket and make sure the public they serve can travel safely and not look for "volunteers" to do their policing for them.

If you drive a getaway car for a bank robbery you get charged so if they aided in what they have perceived as a crime why are they not charged?
