I'll tell you how good Michael Jordan was. He was so good they literally made a docu-series about his last season with the bulls and it got more eyeballs than any NBA finals today and it gets talked about more and has been more relevant than anything going on in the NBA in the last 15 to 20 years

I remember like it was today, the video where pippen was sitting in the bench and he had his sneakers forward with the Jordan logo on the sole and he pointed his finger to the logo and then said "come back". I miss that nba, those bulls and the rest of the teams. Best era of all time.

I also remember the 1.8 second refusal to enter the game like it was yesterday. So many fans saw this. It led sportscenter that night when it happened. I used to respect Scottie before he started trashing MJ and Phil. Scottie did more to damage his reputation than anyone else. The last dance didn’t make me think any less of him even with the flaws it pointed out. And the part about not giving condolences to Jordan when his dad passed is about as low as you can get. Scottie had his chance to one up MJ. Very few people remember- when Blazers blew their 15-point fourth quarter lead against the Lakers in 2000, puntuated with an alley oop from Kobe to Shaq, Kobe was guarded on that possession by Pippen. Pippen let Kobe drove by him, Brian Grant had to rotate over to stop the driving Kobe, leading to an alley oop dunk by Shaq that totally deflated the Blazers. Lakers had just lost 2 straight to the Blazers, the Blazers led by Pippen was 12 mins away from going to the Finals and was heavily favored against the Pacers in the East. This could have been the ultimate validation for Pippen- he was finally able to lead a team by himself to a championship and he blew it by letting Kobe drive past him. Somehow I bet in his mind, this was MJ's fault again.

I used to be a huge scottie pippen fan. Even my personal game is much influenced by the way he played the game. I wouldn't say that Scottie hated MJ back then but jealousy was there. I think scottie lost his sanity after several personal tragedies in his private life (one of his sons passed away, the cheating and divorce with larsa). His rage against Mj and Phil only destroys his own legacy and reputation. 😔

Michael Jordan admits he would not have won those 6 championships without Scottie Pippen. But Scottie Pippen doesn't seem to get that he would not have become the player he became or had the hall-of-fame career had it not been for Michael Jordan. MJ without SP may have won who knows how many chamionships without SP - one, two, six, seven - depends on who his teammates may have been. Doubt SP, regardless of who his teammates may have been , wins any withoout MJ.

I agree with your take Charles to a certain extent… from a practical perspective you are right in because Denver is a good team and plays the game the right way… However, due to league still standing behind one player SAS, NW, Shay Shay, Perkins and the rest of the WORLD understands which team if the Nuggets and Lakers played first who would get the benefit of the doubt and favorable whistle treatment… if Joker faces any adversity against this team and the support of the league Nuggets will not be able to overcome the obstacles… fair playing field Nuggets all day, every day and twice on Sunday

When Jordan returned in 1995, Pippen apparently expected him to be Batman and Jordan to be Robin, because Pippen was in his prime and Jordan was 32 years old, which was past his prime by 90's standards. One day, they were playing a scrimmage, Team Jordan vs. Team Pippen, and Pippen's team was winning, so Pippen started trash-talking Jordan, and Jordan exploded and started scoring in bunches and putting physical and mental pressure on Pippen on and on. Pippen told Jordan to calm down and it stopped, reminding everyone who the team's alpha dog is. It was probably around this time that Pippen began to feel inferior and envious of Jordan. And it seems that Pippen has always felt distant from Jordan. From Jordan's perspective, Pippen was a teammate he respected with affection more than other teammates, but not in the same way he looked at Oakley or Barkley.

Completely agree, something is off. And i'll tell you what i believe is off, Pippen's mind. I believe that for whatever reason his mind has reached some kind of breaking point. Maybe not a lunatic, but something is seriously wrong, that's why personally i am somewhat reluctant to fully critisise Pippen. I also don't believe the narrative that he always hated MJ. He liked MJ, showed his emotions for MJ hundrends of times, not even a single time did it seem fake. He was a sincere and straight dude when he spoke. He always hated MJ, he always hated Phil Jackson, he always hated everybody, no way. It's like we talk about two different persons. Something is really off in his head and i truly wish he is ok because Pippen was always a very likeable dude.

When Mike left everybody was expecting the Bulls to be a bottom team but they won 55 games a few games less than the prior year with MJ. Pippen was 3rd in MVP race and MVP of the All Star game . The Bulls were 1 game from going to the championship without Jordan. Despite all the success without him Jordan chose to only point out the most negative thing about Pippen that. Totally unfair. Include the good amd bad not just the picture you want to portray. It would be nice for people to tell the entire story and not just post for clicks.
