Considering scottie played the majority of his career and spent many hours every day under Phil, I think his opinion on the mans character matters more than Dan Patricks.
@@zachnantz5304 - I’m not comparing the worth of their relative opinions. I’m just saying that Phil made a valid point. Pippen’s comment about Phil criticizing Kobe in his book then coming back to coach him doesn’t make him a racist. It might make him a backstabber or vindictive, but it doesn’t make him a racist.
Props to DP for giving Scottie an out and trying to get him to come to his senses rather than play along with Scottie's absurd premise. New respect for DP. New disrespect for Pippen. How dare he bring Kobe into it making that stupid strawman argument!
@@josephdelledonne2098 I'm watching my whole way through the 90's Bulls conference and finals. Scottie was never a last second shot guy. Last second layup guy - maybe. Even MICHAEL wouldn't offload to Scottie for a last second shot when he was double teamed; and, Scottie wouldn't take that shot anyway! The 2nd pass was ALWAYS open when Michael was double teamed. But Michael would rather offload to Pax or Kerr for a last second shot - because they're better shooters. This is so stupid.
Kukoc was the better shooter. Like in Milwaukee how they give the last shots to Middleton instead of Giannis. Giannis might be the better player, but that doesn’t mean he’s the guy you want shooting a 20 foot shot with the game on the line
@@KCiAzN Phil is not a racist; you're lame for falling for that bs. Pippen is a dirt bag and is just trying to get attention in hopes of selling books. Disgusting to call Jackson a racist when it's based on nothing. Kukoc was the much better shooter as was Paxson when he hit a game winner on a pass from MJ. Race had zero to do with Pippen not taking the final shot. Jackson was a great coach and knew a wide open 3 from a shooter like Kukoc or Paxson was better than a star getting double teamed. Fans loved Jordan but Pippen was never real popular.
So it’s for the cameras, yet MJ passes to Kerr like he said he was. And even if the play was drawn up for MJ…MJ didn’t force a shot when Stockton came over. He made a smart play and passed to Kerr. Pippen is losing it.
He also completely ignored the fact he came to the Bulls with Grant and their minutes increased the same respectively during the Bulls run. And that when Grant left, the “Pippen-led” Bulls were on the verge of not even winning 40 games and making the playoffs, until Mike comes back and they roll off 13 of the last 17. And this was despite the fact they added Kukoc, Harper Kerr and Longley. Or that the Bulls won 62 games when Pippen played only half the season and he played 27 minutes in game 6 in the final game against Utah.
"Wow MJ made the right basketball play" "Sounds like someone else i know who also does tht but gets criticized bcoz his teammates cnt make shots like kerr did"
@@buchulesobayeni6445 I think the difference is whole world know when mj has the ball he will take a shot even it is a very tough shot. So when he pass defense is not ready for it at all.But with Lebron you know he will pass if it is a tough shot more often than not. So defense is always thinking about it. that's the difference between lebron passing last shot and mj passing last shot.
When Phil decided to let Kukoc complete the last pitching lore, it was not out of contempt for Pippen, but his complete trust in Kukoc. Even Jordan himself did not have 100% confidence. Kukoc’s Fixed-point shooting is actually more accurate than Jordan! Pippen cannot understand the game, he only understands himself! If he hadn't met Jordan, he wouldn't be in the ranks of stars. If he went to another team, no one would know him today.
@@End_the_CCP i think to say pippen doesnt understand the game is plain wrong. You build a franchise with a player. Pippen’s ego as a superstar during that 95 season took over instead of being objective about it. Both decisions can be right. It is just that the win justified picking kukoc for the last shot. If we always base it on the the shoot mechanics, then reggie miller or even jordan shouldnt take the final shots.
Phil chose Kukoc not to spoil Kukoc alone, but the military commander has the situational awareness of the battlefield, and the commander is also responsible for the end of the war. Choosing Kukoc is to bet on more stable players. , Instead of betting on players with great fluctuations in the level of the game. At this time, who has the better chance of winning, the military commander knows his own soldiers well. Phil is not aimed at anyone. In addition to confusing his opponents, he has to make decisions for himself. Responsible, Pippen should learn to look at the development of things from the overall picture, rather than getting confused with the older

@@zachnantz5304 Your right Scottie spent a lot of time with Phil, but also Phil has coached hundreds of players and played on several teams. Not one former player or former teammate of Phil's has said what Scottie is claiming. Not one!! Also Scottie's creditability has been in question alot during his playing days in Chicago. So the majority of people will not take his word for it cause of his character. And this is an obvious attempt to sell his products. Let me get this right...Phil is a racist that you decided to continue being coached by after the 1994 season. You decided not to say shit about him being a racist from 1994 until 2021. You decided to win 3 more championships with him, smile in photos, hand out with him, etc and he a racist.

If the only reason that Scottie thinks Phil is racist is because he gave kukoc the last shot, he’s crazy. But like Scottie said here none of us were in the practices and locker rooms like he was and we don’t know Phil Jackson personally like Scottie does

Scottie was my favorite player growing up (and still is). This was hard to watch. He recently lost a son; and I don't know if that's affecting him now with some of what he's saying, but grief is a powerful thing and can quickly disguise itself and transform into anger. You even start to separate yourself from your past because the pain is too hard to bear. It's too bad Dan didn't ask Scottie about the 24 second violation before the Kukoc shot, as well as Kukoc hitting 3 previous game winners, and how this may have influenced Phil's decision to go with Toni.
just to be fair on what scottie said. if there's a camera in front of you, you can't just easily say what is in your mind. you've got to filter it. and he was right because the play was for jordan and the backup play was for kerr in case jordan couldn't get the last shot.

I don’t have no problem at all with Scottie speaking his peace and telling his side of the story as far as his experience with MJ. I think he’s being unfair in labeling Phil Jackson a racist though. That’s too huge of an accusation to just put out there without authentic receipts outside of “he let Toni take the last shot instead of me”

Honestly seems like it at this point. Calling out players and ex coaches and throwing his teammates under the bus. Very awkward. You’re a five-time champion. What more credit do you need? No one is diminishing how good of a Robin/secondary player Pippin was. Not sure why he’s so salty that he was never a superstar caliber player. He’s the Klay Thompson to Curry. Why the hell would you fret over one shot and call your coach a racist when his go to guys were MJ, Shaq and Kobe😂
Yes he receives acknowledgement for his talents, but Scottie deserves way more. He's the first kind of the player that was all around great. He guarded Magic During that first finals they won together. So I understand his sentiments.
It amazes me how little empathy everyone has...Despite having been one of the best players on earth and known across the globe for perhaps a decade, Scotties been disrespected perpetually by people who have achieved nothing in comparison .... clearly was consistently underappreciated by his employers shortchanged his fair share of credit by the media, and decades into retirement rather than even being able to relive the good times via a new documentary like The Last Dance, watches his reputation get dragged thru the mud all over again this time by MJ, the legendary GOAT who has 0rings and a legacy of futility when playing NBA games without him...Pippen left more money on the table in order to continually help glorify MJ than the overwhelming majority of us will ever make in our lifetimes, and MJ continues to make a killing in retirement as the worlds greatest shoe saleman because of the legacy Scottie more or less broke his back helping him complete...Try walking a mile in another mans shoes. I was very dissappointed with The Last Dance and with the kind of guy MJ has seemingly become in retirement tbh...it was a self aggrandizing 10hr puff piece yet it failed to fully depict some of the most spectacular, defining aspects of what it was like to face MJ at his best-overempahsized and flat out fudged in some areas while failing to fully capture and alleviate on certain other vital moments, pts in his career for the sake of adhering to their format and of course pushing&serving their 1sided narrative.

Scottie and Jordan did go 1-1, according to former teammate Craig Hodges. "“I can remember this time in, I think, 1990 when Scottie decided to challenge Michael one day in practice,” Hodges told The Washington Post. “Michael kind of backed up for a half-second. Then he proceeded, literally, to score on Scottie at will. It was incredible. I mean, Scottie Pippen even then was one of the best players in the league and Michael just rained points on him. Maybe pippen is still mad about that 😂😂. Knowing that he was one of the best overall defenders back then if not the best and Jordan would just come down and rain shots on him.

Hey I feel the same way. I love having this picture of the 90s Bulls being this close family like team and hearing Pippen talking like this just ruins that. He doesn’t seem like he likes Jordan or Phil and is more resentful of Jordan. I’ve had clues of that here and there over the years but I tried to ignore it. Now I can’t.
Basically says Jordan was never his friend and they aren’t friends now. Pretty sad to hear. The amount of work to put in together to win six championships has got to form some kind of bond. Scottie makes it seem like they played on the same team together for a year and moved on. Those of us who grew up watching the Bulls probably understand now it wasn’t all sunshine but this is just odd.
@DG 1 no doubt no matter what they try to do...they cant diminish the fact Jordan deserves to be recognized as the greatest player in the history of the NBA

It was a selfish decision? The dude (MJ) clearly was teetering on a nervous breakdown after his father (and best friend) was murdered and had his body dumped in a swamp.
