I actually don't follow the NBA but this guy's name just keeps popping up everywhere so I checked it out. But is it me or are people finally appreciating technical skills again instead of slam dunks and basically all the AND1 stuff? haha....I noticed this guy plays very efficient, not what I'm used to seeing of a basketball superstar...
@takeapieandrun
@takeapieandrun 8 лет назад
+IKON LKP He's definitely a finesse and skill player. Doesn't dunk much at all, isn't the strongest, tallest, or most athletic, but absolutely demolishes defenders and I think that makes him the most relatable. The stuff he does is insane and he does it with things like shooting and handles which everybody can develop if they put in the time and effort
@wackyd
@wackyd 8 лет назад
+IKON LKP I think people always appreciate dominance but there have been very few players over the past few decades who have dominated based almost entirely on their technical skills. I feel like the closest recent comparisons for Curry are probably Nash and Kobe but Nash didn't get as much love from the average fan because he was a pass-first guy and Kobe's dominance had a lot to do with his size and athleticism.

I used to think that Lebron was the best player in the world but I honestly think Curry is the best player in the world right now. As soon as he passes half court, everyone is concerned. The shots he takes are so difficult, but they almost always go in...his ball handling is insane, his assists are creative and accurate, his shots are quick and deadly and he is unselfish with the ball. Nobody in the NBA can match him...nobody.

Okay, So why the hell do people say he's just a shooter? I don't get it. This is basically kyrie's handles without kyrie's shiftiness. He could easily pass for second best handles in the whole league. Same with the finishing too. Some of these clips are from his Nike days, so this also means he's been doing this for a long time. Why do people say its just been a year? NBA fans confuse me man. Good thing the premiership starts today!

@samgilliam7593 8 лет назад
Steph is an great finisher at the rim, not the best, but still very good, and his mid range is good as well. He isn't the best at finishing at the rim, an obvious example of someone better is Russel Westbrook, but he is better than a lot of pg. Also, did you even watch the video? Most of the shots in there were mid range or lay ups. Also, only half of steph's points are from threes, and if he didn't shoot threes, he would drive more and probably get more points. So, saying he can only shoot threes or that if he didn't shoot threes, he wouldn't be good is uneducated. But, you're right in that he chokes a lot.

@bigstudwithaguitar
@bigstudwithaguitar 7 лет назад
Rings are NOT created equal. Championship 1, The showtime lakers were over. Magic was old, Kareem was gone... so... meh Championship 2, Clyde Drexler and... nobody. Championship 3, Charles Barkley and... nobody Championship 4, Pretty balanced starting 5... and the bench was complete garbage (supersonics) Championship 5 and 6, Karl Malone and John Stockton... and... nobody. If Jordan had to play against Lebron, Kyrie, AND kevin Love... and 3 point shooting specialists galore... he'd have his hands full. If he had to play against Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant... every team he's ever been on would lose. In today's standards, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman... would be more comparable to Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green... and we haven't even talked about KD. It was debateable last year whether Golden State was an overall better team than the prime Bulls. This year... you're an idiot if you don't KNOW that Golden State is better than the punkass 96 Bulls.

+Igigjf Jcuf Decided to do a little fact checking. Going on the same number of seasons - Jordan's the better scorer, rebounder, stealer, blocker, field goal percentage, and minutes per game. Curry's the better free throw shooter, three point shooter, and assister. And, if Curry wins the championship this year, Curry's the better winner - Jordan got his first championship in his seventh year, Curry got his first in his sixth with this year's playoff run being his seventh year in the league. Right now I give the edge to Jordan pretty darn easily. He's got a whole library of highlight reels and a room full of records and championships. But, I don't think he's as far ahead of Curry as you think. If Curry can keep doing what he's been doing, and can keep winning championships on top of that, it's gonna be real dang hard to say one is above the other. It's a dang big pair of shoes to fill, but so far Curry's filling them. It's the sustaining this level of execution that'll be the proof of whether he deserves that Jordan comparison or not.

+Xander Thompson Jordan once averaged like 37.1ppg in a season and was consistently above 30ppg/season in most of his prime years. Only Wilt Chamberlain has averaged higher in an NBA season. He also career averaged 30.12ppg, which is an NBA record. He wasn't in the 50-40-90 club, but Curry is clearly a much better shooter and the 50-40-90 club is a "great shooters" club. Curry is headed towards being an NBA all-time great if he keeps going as he is, but at the moment, he still has a long way to go before he can catch up with MJ.

Very similar to Leo Messi in the way that its not just about the ball control, its more to do with timing, awareness of space and COMFORTABLE(key) use of that space regardless of how small it is. To me a lot of his haters don't think his handles are impressive because he makes it look incredibly effortless when compared to other great handlers in the league. Also if your a basketball fan and you don't know who Messi is, I highly recommend you go watch a few videos of his ASAP. One of the sporting worlds' all time great geniuses.

Put Curry on the Lakers and watch him decline, in my opinion. All Stephen Curry and Clay Thompson do are fire off 3's. It's no doubt they are both great shooters, but people look at stats and honestly fail to see things like how many of his shots are open or simply opportunities created by teammates. He isn't MVP material until he can do something without his stacked teammates. Look at him before and look at him now with all these additions. Plus they have a team with reserve players that are working harder than ever, knowing they can win a championship etc.. because that's just how it works. Warriors usually win with or without Curry. The only times they lost in their streak they had Curry both times.. Traditionally is a big deal or controversy to have 2-3 superstars with a solid team that works hard, but the Spurs/Warriors currently have about 4-7 big name players or veterans who are playing extremely well and creating opportunities for their teammates. You have veterans and skilled players on the Heat for example, but they aren't always as efficient; as much as I hate to say a player can play worse than another one. You can't really compare Luol Deng's efficiency to Iguodala coming off the bench. You would need a game where someone suddenly breaks out and does good, etc.. Sometimes a team really supports a player's greatness. It's a lot easier to get stats on ateam that can already win then a team where you're an aged star being double-teamed etc..You can almost guarantee that a challenged shot by one team that goes in will be met with either an open 3 point, 2 point shot, or dunk. It takes a lot more effort to defend against teams like Golden State and the Spurs. Even the Clippers have a great solid team, but we both know the big two there are Blake Griffin and CP3. With Warriors it's Curry/Thompson who just fire shots and make them like 70% or more, but then even without them you have a solid team with Bogut, Green, Iguodala, etc.. With Spurs it's like you have Ginobli, Duncan, Kawhli, Parker, and plenty of others that you know are just generally superior on the floor. Both teams can afford to rest players and still pretty much maintain a lead or win overwhelmingly. I just can't give Curry MVP credit like Durant, Wade, Lebron, and other players because it seems to me his handles and defense aren't as good as they should be. He's on a team that lets him basically be the attention-whore as he shoots open shots created by others opportunities, but otherwise he gets outplayed physically by most team that are really trying. I don't think Curry can carry or boost the Lakers or 76ers, or any team doing worse at the moment if he suddenly went there as much as a Wade or a Lebron could boost them to be better. It's more than just stats, you sometimes even have veteran bench players who are scoring with ease and it's clear to see Warriors/Spurs are great teams with lots of good players. It's no doubt Curry can shoot but it's almost controversial because of how well his team does anyways. He is more like a safeguard who will guarantee you a few more 3 point shots on a team that has a 5 star lineup already, and can be rested whilst still pretty much winning the game. As I said, test him on the Lakers once Kobe leaves and see how well his so called 'stats' and shooting hold up. Lel.. As much as we know it isn't going to happen, it's pretty much true. You can guard Curry if you didn't have 4 other players who can shoot pretty high 3 pt shot percentages or are known to be excellent shot-makers in the paint; if not just creating great assists for their teammates. For the warriors, Iguodala and Green are overrated and usually come in fully rested with easy 6-9 points 'each' , in 9 minutes, while they can revert between lineups and rest players at any time. They have too many players who can generally just make those shots at a high % and it's clear other teams have to catch up or the players need to be dispersed. I don't really see talent on Curry or Warriors like I've seen in most MVPs, I just see the same basic player running up hitting his rehearsed 3's at 60-70%. It's astounding, but he's also open most of the time except maybe for a hand coming up near his face. You can't really go off and deny the fact that it seems like Curry and Thompson are 'dose guy' who goes off and only practices shooting 3's as fast as he can while his teammates go off and play physical basketball. Even without those two, the Warriors have a good chance of competing, just as good as the Spurs or more. This just reminds me of when people cry about the Bulls or the Heat having a 'big 3'. Look at these teams now dominating the NBA with like 5-6 big-name players on each team and decent reserve/bench. It's like if you copied Jordan 3 times and had him play with himself, they would all be doing the same thing. The team strategy and the fact a team can make the other teammates get easier shots isn't really added into the statistics which people look at. Kobe has been 2v5ing for years and still has pretty good stats even though he is old/retiring, but imagine him on a more supportive team. Lel. I hate to say it again but some players just tend to score/play better and on a team they are just way better. That is why there are stars and MVPs and players who drop in and out and never really get known.

Curry has superb control and technique and he's deceptive...that's why he actually doesn't look that fast but nobody can keep up with him. This is why their dumb asses are always getting injured...all athletic and wild and out of control. Lol...but you young boys like that.

smh people saying Curry's as good as Jordan. The difference between Curry and Jordan is once MJ crosses you up he isn't steppin back for the 3. He's going in the paint to posterize your 7 footer for the and one. They have different offensive playstyles that can't be compared. But don't forget why MJ is the goat. He's a competitor like none other, even more so than Curry is or ever will be.
