I feel for him. It's always more fun if Luka and Curry are in the playoffs because of their individual game being elevated so much higher than in the regular season.
I am happy for him too. I wish people could just appreciate a guy who stuck with the team who drafted him even though they didn't win a championship until his 6th year in the league.
I don’t get why you didn’t think he’d win if the numbers are there and don’t lie. I think you didn’t watch many GSW games since the eye test throughout the season supported this award too.
For anyone saying how? Here’s how 😂 - 1st in Clutch PTS - 1st in Clutch FGM - 1st in Clutch 3PM - 1st in Clutch PTS per minute - 1st in Clutch PTS when trailing - 1st in Clutch FGM when trailing - 1st in Clutch 3PM when trailing - 1st in Clutch 3PM in a single season - 1st in Go-Ahead FGM in final 2 minutes - 1st in Go-Ahead FGM in final minute - 1st in Go-Ahead FGM in final 30 seconds - 1st in Go-Ahead FGM in final 10 seconds - 1st in Go-Ahead FGM in final 5 seconds - 1st in Clutch Win Probability Added - 1st in Clutch Impact - 1st in Player % of Clutch Team Points (Heaviest Carrier in Clutch)
@@Plaxerb23 Well, considering he probably holds the record for most 4th quarters sat out, leading to most of his record numbers being significantly less than they would've been, this award is a little bit of a make up.
As a Warrior fan since 1992. I agree. If it wasn't for Steph keeping the team afloat the entire season. The team could've been a whole lot worse then they ended up this season.
@tonybayarea Yup with Klay Thompson playing like ahit most of the year, Steve Kerr not playing JK enough and all the antics that Draymond Green was doing, without Steph, this team would easily be one of the worst teams in the NBA probably would've been a #14 seed
Alot of people didn't watch the warriors this but the amount of clutch games we had to rely on Steph is crazy. Klay,Draymond and Kerr really drop the ball this year. If we hadn't needed him so much through out the year, we would definitely be in the playoffs.
I’d take Joker Luka or SGA over Steph for clutch player of the year this season. He only was in that position because the Warriors fumbled big leads in the 4th all the time and lost a lot doing so.
@@rainhenry1 not really because his teams were in those situations because they blew a lot of 4th quarter leads and they lost those close games all the time
@@carmeloolympicversionantho4307 Draymond had to take a hiatus, Wiggins and Looney underperformed, and I don’t even know if Klay is any good any more. Meanwhile, as the primary ball handler, Curry has always had to work extra hard to keep from turning the ball over to long and athletic defenders. This year was no exception. The expectations of the Warriors this season were mostly based on legacy and not on their actual condition as a team. Aging players, newbie players, and undersized. 46-36 was about the extent of what they could do.
5:12 "we had some 'absences.'" Not "injuries," which would've been a shame but understandable, but "absences." We all know what Steph meant by "absences"
nba awards is a narrative driven joke. clutch player of the year missed playoffs? also steph curry is not clutch at all. The clutch stats are skewed because the warriors are so bad steph has to go all out in the 4th.
He's going to be so hungry next season, hopefully the GSW front office makes the right moves and restructures the team. Next season Steph is going to be LEGENDARY.
He's going to miss the playoffs again because he's the most one-dimensional superstar in history who has always been carried by other MVPs, Finals MVPs, DPOY, Coach of the Year, and over a dozen all-stars. Every year the Warriors roster hasn't been loaded, he's failed.
I know people act like he wasn't clutch cause his team didn't make the playoffs. But with how the rest of them were playing if you watched the games it's clear that he deserved the award. But I think demar and shai deserved it just as much
You know Curry ain't that mad right now. He got a lot more time for his golf game. He'll be aiite. But they're going to have to get rid of Draymond and Klay if they really want to compete again because they are, unfortunately, not even a championship team starting caliber players anymore.

It’s honestly crazy how bad the Warriors roster was last year with the severe regression of Wiggins and Klay and Draymond’s issues. I mean, who’s even their second best player anymore? Without Steph that roster is easily bottom 5 in the league IMO.
@@elijahbishop250 yeah Ad is the most inconsistent player ever. Known as street cloths. This was his most games in a season ever. If curry had AD all other years they wouldn’t make it with the time AD is ALWAYS out. 🥱
They literally won 2 seasons ago, they will make the necessary adjustments and become contenders again but with this new CBA, it's not as easy as it was once so that's by Bob Mayers left and now we are just in a two season limbo of trying to figure out the money so that we can afford the best players around Steph and the core. Can't win every season man come on...
Yeah Steph definitely deserves this one & I gotta say it's strange not seeing him or the Warriors in the playoffs, it's gotta feel like unchartered territory
I liked when all the player get in a place waiting for the claim their awards it was at least excited and see their reaction on live was they make it special now it’s everything by online and Charles were like “ok, Stephen curry wins it” what is that Broo
They should just name an award after Steph just because he's the best at life even when he's not winning MVPs, championships, draining 3s, or changing the way the game is played. Never mind... only gonna be one Steph. Ever.
8:35 Did they forget Curry missed almost all of 2020 with a broken hand? And 2016 the Warriors went a full 7 games against the Cavs in the Championship while Curry was hobbled by a grade 2 sprain of his MCL in his knee. He was still rehabbing when the Olympics came up.
Honestly, it’s probably a blessing in disguise to miss the playoffs. The 2022 championship run was grueling and I don’t know if they would have won it if they’d made the playoffs the season before and played 2 extra months. Now they’ll have 5 to 6 months to rest, figure things out, reload and restrategize. And Steph can concentrate on helping restore some glory to Team USA ☝️
I'm surprised Steph won it. Not saying he didn't deserve it, but I thought it would have gone to Shai since he made they playoffs. Good for Steph though, considering the season he's had. Hopefully, his team is good enough next year to make the playoffs.
