Obviously they have some money in the bank to pay for expenses, but inflation eats away at the value of cash, and banks aren't paying very high interest rates.

I run a shop that makes about 100-150 k a year. Gotta pay rent which is about 20 grand a year. Gotta pay property tax and utilities for the house. Cars are paid off and so is the house but there are still expenses. Gotta pay employees as well. Also need supplies. Also gotta spend about 60-70 hours a week making sure things run well. I'm also not the only one who runs it. My brother is in on it with me too. So taking all of that into account and I'm kind of spent... And I would consider myself doing way better than most americans. I guess I'm considered middle class barely? Most folks by large are lucky to make around 20-30 k a year. Pretty sure the middle class is fucked these days and it's just rich vs poor basically...
