That was a most enlightening interview. Franno gave us a lot of facts, a lot of parables and a lot to reflect on!!! People come and people go, that's just the way of the world. MVP has done great for our athletes and Jamaica, so let's big up Franno and his team for the good work that they are doing. Enough said.
I will always have respect for Stephen Francis he tells it as he sees it and many will not like his honesty , when he opened his training camp in Jamaica most Jamaicans say it won't work he proves them wrong and now a lot of the same people who say it would not work are the same ones open up training camps in Jamaica and now it's a trend all over the Caribbean give this man his respect.
This man is not straight forward, there is a serious issue at the club who athletes are moving away from the club. He need to still wish them well despite but he doesn't
Elaine and Francis both gained from each other ..He's an excellent coach. On the other hand Elaine knows what's best for her, whether financially or other reasons, why she leaves MVP..I wish her well as she moved on with her new coach and her career.

As always Stephen is brilliant and could have been making much much more money doing other things. But he is in love will all sports and is committed to helping people achieve their dreams. This man has done alot for Jamaica and Jamaicans. Some went on to become great athletes and some were able to get themselves educated. what more can we ask of this man
Not sure what else he would be doing, but I know that he is very intelligent with excellent analytic and critical thinking skills, and is armed with an MBA
Is that the best they can do for their athletes practice field? Wow the grass was so high it was shocking 😳 But I don't know of another group of sprinters who have such success, despite the lack of quality training fields, equipment and finances, as the Jamaicans.

Big Events such as the Olympics and World Championship. An example from this year, SFP timing of 10.63 in July when the Olympic was in August. While ET was doing her best timing close to the Olympic. SFP was doing similar feat previously. So this concept is top performance at the appropriate time. This seems to be more mental than physical. Becoming one with your physical activity. Analyze the data. (Smile)
When this was first reported, she call it rubbish and blame the media for spreading rumors. Also making the journalist seem inept. Now the plot thickens.
Poor on her part. At her level she should have better training for interviews. The worst part was criticizing the media while seemingly unaware that she was talking to “the media”. Mike even joked about it.

I don’t know why Elaine is being looked at as being ungrateful by these comments? Nike did her dirty she spilt with them and coach who is also with Nike. The girl have to go make money she can’t Always run forever and the contract she has right now won’t make her rich. Miss 9th placed is making all the money while the champ Elaine is making pennies of course I would move on to bigger and better things as well. Francis isn’t all that innocent .

If what I heard is true that Elaine is now with PUMA with a better deal then PUMA and Nike don't work together like that, just like how Flow and Digicel do not sponsor the same athlete. You could see it and even smelt it on the track. Shelly don't like second best so does Elaine. If you notice at first Shelly was running the 100m and Elaine the 200m. The truth is in an interview with Yendy Elaine said she preferred the 100m over the 200m so now we see why they wouldn't be friends in the same camp as Stephen Francis would have to choose who to run 100m and even if he did do a toss up both athletes would still have problems. Both of these females athletes pushes each other in a race and to me that world record could easily be broken by one of these two athletes running in the same race as both will dig deep and push out all the effort to prove a point.
That's how much they they hate elaine. Because she is not one off those kingston girls , bias bias, look she will be fine elsewhere. When you good you good, no coach can turn a donkey into a horse , some athletes are just gifted, if elaine master her starting , no one will beat her for a few years if she stays healthy.

He said he doesn't know, MAYBE it could have something to do with her and Elaine's relationship. He never said she left due to it, but maybe it contributed. I think the coach was wrong to say that, because he fueled fire to rumors that ETH and SAFP can't stand each other. Especially since he said "he is not sure", so basically he also was speculating based on popular rumours to that respect I think he was immature and negligible, a rather reckless speculation coming from such a seasoned well respected international coach. He shouldn't have said it unless he was sure that indeed there were issues and that he could back it up with facts. He made a statement without providing facts with precise incidences that proved to him that SAFP and ETH had issues, to backup his statement. Neither SAFP nor ETH ever publicly stated that they had issues with one another while at MVP, it all started due to rumours, coach Francis used the rumor as a scapegoat as to why SAFP left and now ETH too. What's he going to say next, that ETH left because of recent rumors that ETH has issues with Shericka Jackson(SJ)🤔. coach Francis sounds like a wise man he shouldn't indulge the temptation to entertain rumours about his athletes, past or present.
The issue is not that Elaine has left, but how she has gone about it. If you want to leave, leave, but at your level, pick a camp that is knowledgeable, experienced and can give you a fighting chance. What are her husband's credentials as a coach? Has Bert ever trained a female sprinter? Coaching is not just about teaching someone how to get out the blocks fast. I hope her new camp knows how to manage an athlete with the type of injury that she has. As for Franno, what he lacks in interpersonal skills, he makes up for in intelligence and talent. That man is not worried; he has been making stars out of average athletes for years.

Under LTD model, Francis would be able to transfer insight as to what worked and what didn't work throughout all his time working directly with her. This is why athlete's tend to take a step back, initially, when switching coaches, as it takes time for an individual's body to acclimatize to a different methodology - this is especially true the older the athlete*

If u did take full note of what i said u would have a better understanding of what i said, no one is perfect, there must be something on both side that need to be address, but they're some ungratefulness as well if u can discern very well u would be able to understand that, I think Stephen Frances work with an iron fist, I also think it turn out some good result, Result that put Jamaica on the map over and over again, way more than any other coach in Jamaica able to do, Or we proud of the result??? yes we do, I person think it is a bitter sweet journey and Athlete should strike a balance with the good and the bad, maybe if he wasn't firm in his approach we all would be singing a different sons wondering if there is any place in the track and field competition for Jamaica, As far as i can see, it seems like softer coach produce softer result, it is an open field and every Athlete have open choice from day one but some only see other option when that think they reach, That is unapologetically my outlook

Very Good interview however I am lead to infer that (1) Though not directly admitted Elaine left the club for financial gain (2) Shakarri Richardson will be coached by stephen francis . It is also important that when asked about whether Elaine left the club due to financial reasons Coach Francis whilst not answering in the affirmative gave the analogy of top flight sports stars like Messi and Renaldo who both left their respective clubs for financial reasons and went on to say that Athletes are not bound to stay with any particular club . What i would have liked him to do is shed some light on the percentage of atheletes sponsorhip that MVP takes and how earnings are paid to atheltes. After all MVP is a business so clearly their are contractual terms and I feel if Elaine believes the terms are not as favourable to her now and the club cannot come to a compromise then she is well withing her right to leave its just bsuiness its not being ungrateful.

Sound a little bit bitter, and you should’ve asked him more about the disrespect from Nike towards greats like SFP & ETH who are severely underpaid & misrepresented with lack of representation like major commercial, and he’s wrong about longevity, SFP is as dominant and still at the top of the game like the Legend Usain Bolt!! She is in Serena Williams class as one the greatest ever, but you would never know that if it was up to Nike!! Still in all Frano is one of the greats period!!
In Stephen Franno Francis we trust. I feel Spencer miss her boat, her regular 55s ain't gonna cut it. The 2 Americans has taken 400m hurdles into a different hemisphere.
Athletes career is very short so they need to maximize their earnings whether by changing coaches managers etc. Sometimes coaches are just good at coaching but not business development for their athlete but ego prevents them from acknowledging that. Its not about an athlete being ungrateful but looking out for whats in her / his best interest at whatever stage in her / his career.
In my opinion, if tajaye is gonna challenge for the fastest Jamaican then I think he should pause his long lumping for now because of his previous knee injury. We wouldn't want any further issues.
Shelly at one point stated that she was not getting much attention or focus ehete her training was concerned and at the time, it seemed that his focus was on Elaine. I would not classify that as jealousy as no top tier athlete should have to demand her coach's attention and focus. She voiced that she was leaving MVP after she the World Championships but was basically bullied by Nike from a financial standpoint to stay. The company was in deals with Francis. Shelly didn't stsy because she wanted to, she was basically forced.
@@breadbutter4221 I don't think he should have said that. If they had a strained r/ship, that their story to tell. If he knew about this he should have limit their encounters and/or interactions. Since he was clarifying he should have gone back further in history and said she left and was forced to come back. Also, it was no secret that she mentioned lack of attention from Coach Francis. Seems like she was right. In less than a year, and at her age, her technique and time have improved.

People make their choices. If the lady want to leave let her leave who knows what this gentleman isn't telling us. I think Nike could have done better for Elaine and she should leave them instead. Maybe her contract states she can leave nike but cant stick with the coach.
He's not Wishing her failure. Elaine fails herself. Elaine has a selfesteem issue. She don't have that confident to push on her own. You don't need a magnifying glass to see that. The injuries Elaine battling right now is mental injuries. Until she get that mindset intact she won't come back so easy. And this is a fact. She's even in a Weaker State right now. Training is not about running with men. It's about decipline, respect, determinación, self motivación, pesistency and endurance. She's lacking these qualities. She gave up too easily.
Perhaps the possibility of Francis coaching Sha carri helped finalize Elaines decision to move on. She ain’t giving Sha carri no energy at all, just come through next year like a quiet storm.

@@noelbartley9933 this is a narrow minded way of thinking. Healthy does not mean running personal bests every race. An athlete like Elaine can have all great conditions and still lose a race because someone else did better. For eg. (not pitting them against each other but it is the only reference i have of her recent dominance) Shelly and Elaine competed at the Lausanne DL. Everyone expected Elaine to win because of the form she was in, but Shelly won the race. That does not mean the Elaine was unhealthy because she lost. I hope this explains what i mean clearly.

I would love to see Sha'Carri switch to Franno as her coach. I believe he would get her right and she'd be winning again against the world's top competition. In terms of raw talent, Sha'Carri is one of the best we've seen in a long time, but I believe her current coaching team hasn't been able to maximize her talent. I think she's in danger of falling by the wayside within a year or 2 if she doesn't make some serious changes.
How can a person stay on when not treated fairly by Nike !!! Elaine will survive, God first and a mindset that speaks good not to conform to negative publicity and unprofessionalism. She will survive This is no different your professor could be a good professor but it is up to the individual to study🙏🙏🙏🙏
