No, sorry Queens', I can't accept that - Fry are young by definition. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juvenile_fish ( help I'm trapped in University Challenge mode... )
@@jillosler9353 What's a matter? You're feeling down and have to abuse other people publicly to boost your ego because you're not intelligent enough to recognise a joke when you see one? I didn't invent the joke about Stephen Fry being a dumb-arse always wearing an ear-piece just to sound intelligent. It was Fry himself. You've been played, woman.
@@boliusabol822 Bamber Gascogne , the shows host in the ‘70 s. Obviously he knew the questions in advance , and would swot up a bit so as to appear knowledgeable on everything. For example , “ Wrong answer I’m afraid. You where probably thinking of Louis IV. “ or “ Yes, quite correct and he then went on to found the institute for ……..” It’s just showing off a bit !
@@stechriswillgil3686 ok gasbag but i think as far as Bamber goes he was just doing his job. not sure but maybe you're just a little jealous of those with the knack or something, maybe trying to look smarter than you actually are, perhaps you'll admit it in years to come..
I remember the joke that Bamber told to warm the audience up before this episode: "If you laid all the Newnham students end to end ... nobody would be at all surprised". Newnham was the last women-only college and that was the 1980s for you
@@greggrimer1428 I think Steve Botteril was 24 because he was a postgrad student and Stephen Fry was 23 because he'd been in prison for credit card fraud.
