These podcasts have not compromised or been negligent on audio quality, which cannot be said for a lot of channels. It makes it so much better when you can rely on every word coming across clearly.

The big close up on his calm face (quite an accomplishment for such an often agitated type guy) with the open shirt and neatly trimmed beard, following the calming music..and hand motions as he articulates his introduction. I'm sure that really did a number on you and convinced you. Super fake though. And starts with something easy for listeners like the person's early life, trying to engage them .. not great thing to do with academic intellectual types but that's what they tell people to do for social skills. Stephen Greenblatt seems to be an interesting guy though.. Not sure how well his book stands up, hard to know.

Really enjoying these podcasts...I wish I had access to this kind interaction within my circle of acquaintance. Sadly, most are concerned with holidays, house prices etc.

A tonic for the self-searching and self- questioning mind. Lawrence and Stephen bounced doubts and ideas off each other while scattering seeds that will germinate elsewhere. Hats off to Stephen for quoting lines from Fulke Greville off the top of his head.

I am so exited about discovering Lucretius, that I wished that I had someone to share him with. I am going to follow him as far as I can take him. This is so exiting, really it's like wonderful candy for me. There is so much to learn and I'm quickly running out of time. Thank you both for an unforgettable evening.

Great discussion....Lawrence you might consider a segue into epicureanism with Catherine Wilson, which would include more on Lucretius and atomism. Also a good bookend to the rise of stoicism, both of which are welcome.

I read the Swerve by Stephen Greenblat, it was an amazing book. Very glad that Lawrence Krauss invited him here. I hope he will invite Robert Greene (his machiavellian insight might illuminate the political discussion in a different way). and of course, Yuval Noah Harari would be an amazing guest.

After much study I'm still very confused if the writings of Shakespeare was that of Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford, I'll wait for feedback! But it does cause me some concern that nobody in such a great debate ever brings it up.

As i was listening I fell off to sleep and in my dream I was talking to an old girlfrien of mine, I was listening to her and saying yeah, hum that's interesting and wanted to say something to her but could not! Then I realised it was Krauss who was doing all the talking as I woke up the me in the dream was not able to say anything, still it was a good dream and I fond s9lace in meeting an old friend that wouldn't let me get a word in wonderfull and frustrating at the same time, it's 4:30 AM! Back to sleep.

It's an odd phenomena that speculation of the unknown is often viewed as more worthy than actually knowing. We want to explore mystery but we don't like it when we solve that mystery because we were enjoying the unknown. 'What is it?' is more pleasurable than the answer. It's a bit like the ending of the TV show Lost. We all made up crazy, magical stories to explain things and then it was just 'Oh, it's that'. I give the Human story three stars on IMDb, disappointing ending... Spoiler alert, turns out they were all apes imagining things.

Thanks! Let's not be amazed about lies. In some instances, as with Trump, many of his supporters do not care that he lies -- even as much as he does -- because they like one or more other things he does and it takes too long for them to learn he is hurting them in one way or another. The rich, to take just one example, will take his lies for a very long time because he increases their riches, even though it's at the expense of the bottom 80 or 90 percent of the people. He's rewarding their selfishness.

What you have basically said is that humans are so contemptible that it does not matter what happens to them. I hope it is not the case, but if it is, may they get what they deserve.

*I just felt it would've been a lot better if both wore a shirt mic(also called "Collar Mic", available wireless too) instead of sitting infront of that huge-@$$ mic set!!* also, collar mics have the advantage of not getting in your face, allows participants to look face-to-face while conversing, that way it won't interrupt the discussion/podcast..
