He sounds like he has come from such an interesting background, and it’s always fascinating to learn how that has moulded the person. I hope to see some further conversation with him, covering this, and other insights from his book.
The biggest issue people have with this guy is that he had a love affair with a young girl- who he has now been with for over 30 years😂😂😂 Not once has his name came up in this MeToo culture (which I wholeheartedly support). This is truly an artist we should be able to enjoy without any guilt.
The only diplomacy this country knows is conartistry. We need new leaders who have been schooled in reality, who studied many philosophies and prefer such philosophers as Marcus Aurelius rather than Nicholo Machiavelli. Teach sustainability, not proven ways of undermining sustainable living. This country lost its way somewhere along the path. Perfecting Hitler's strategies in the wrong path. Unfortunately, this country was born on the wrong path. Settler colonialism is stealing. We need to make Russia and China our best friends, and we need a global constitution. We need to stop writing fictional history books so that history doesn't get repeated again and again and again.
I find it odd that on the one hand there are people like Jeffrey Sachs who is so logical, fair minded, always propogating peaceful solutions, but on the other hand, there are people like Biden and Blinken who are deliberately aggressive warhawks leading the world to perpetual wars and disasters.
It's wonderful that you two academics respect each other and that you both see beneath the political rhetoric. But, perhaps you could verbally 69 each other before you start and spend more time explaining the economic systems and how the "dominant empire runs the show." And most importantly, what have been the geopolitical consequences of the west's meddling in the economic systems of any country they choose.
Varoufakis and 99.9% of alternative media voices and sources - unlike Prof Sachs - are either environmentally silent, non-green or rabidly anti-green. I've not watched the whole thing yet, but if you think Jeffery is an important honest voice for his insights into the 2 recent wars in Ukraine & Palestine, wait till he talks about his experience managing the committee in the last few years & saw first hand that he was lied to regarding funding, research....and the lab leak by people working under him who were all directly involved, so he had to fire them

Jeffrey Sachs is a man of great wisdom and integrity. It's a shame that the main stream media doesn't want to hear him anymore. He drops too many truth bombs and debunks their propaganda too effortlessly.

Amazing insight, as always, form Jeffrey Sachs but I have to challenge him on his statement about the Prisoner's Dilemma:. He states that the West is free to talk to Russia and China. That is not true, as the West is held captive by the deep state.
