A brief interview of Stephen Hough on BBC2 prior to his performance of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Jirí Belohlávek on the opening night of the 2009 BBC Proms.
Thank you for your great performances of Tchaikovsk's piano concertos and the C.Fantasia. Except fro the famous No 1, they are all underrated works. All in all they are bright and optimistc, very often sounding relatively 'modern'. No 2 is just as good as no 1 - or any other concerto written at that time.
you can play 4 notes on a guitar at any given moment, on a piano most of the time 10 but you're actually able to play more than 10 by using your fingers to overlap multiple keys.
