When Buster came home and found the citations posted all over his house I have never laughed so hard while reading a book. The shit King came up with to put on the notes was comedy genius. The way he builds up to that moment was perfect. There’s some very memorable moments that take place in this book that I’ll always remember.

My favorite Stephen King work of all time is Skeleton Crew. I'd love to see you take a dive into some of those stories. The Reach is my personal all time favorite, and the way he incorporates that line of "do you love" throughout the anthology is brilliant.

Needful Things was my gateway drug into the Stephen King universe. Still holds a very special place in my heart, It may be time for a reread even though I have a ever growing and looming back log of books to read lol.

Needful Things was amazing. Feel like it's underrated in general but properly rated by Constant Readers. Has to be in my top-10. Leland Gaunt is probably the most unique villain King has ever written. His actions aren't even like straight up evil. It's more like sinister hijinks. 10/10

This is my favorite Stephen King album and it is so insightful as to how a local community falls apart. DON'T CALL ME BUSTER!!!

I read Needful Things for the first time a year or two ago and found it strangely relatable to things happening today, especially around toxic people/influencers who are able to spread negativity through others, getting them to hate one another over petty things, and causing mass chaos over time. Like Gaunt, these people are most fearful of others who stand for good and truth. It’s nice to get a deep dive on a novel from you. Can’t wait for your take on Holly!

The king has returned! But that is one of my favorite book of all time old! God it is so good. Glad to see you back and I hope you’re in great health!

Ive been planning to read Needful Things for years, after some of the previous novels that were set in Castle Rock. Can't wait to read it. I also wonder about your thoughts on Stephen King's new novel Holly?

I am going to try and read Holly and review it as fast as I can. I won’t be getting it until release day.

I've discovered stephen king books thanks to you and your videos. I've read needful things, pet sematery and revival so far using your top 50 sk books ranking as a sort of a guideline. I can't thank you enough, you had a major part in rekindling my love for reading.

Jimmy, hello from Ukraine! Truly love your work and content. I wish you had a bit more videos, but I totally understand it’s not your main focus in life, so still appreciate what you’ve been doing. Needful things is probably the first movie I watched in terms of “King’s” movies and it was interesting. Looking forward to read it someday. Once again, thank you!

Just finished the book…my word, that was deliciously dark and twisted. The last quarter of it is so frenetically paced, I could hardly take in one batshit crazy scene before I was engulfed by the next. “That suicide” though…haunting is the right word. Out of the 13 King books I’ve read so far, this is in my top 3 for sure (just nudged Cujo out the way), after The Stand and The Shining respectively. Top drawer stuff 👌🏽

This was my 2nd or 3rd Stephen King read (probably about 15 years ago) and so many scenes from this still really stick out in my mind

Needful Things is in my top five for sure. I love the characters and how it calls back to SO many previous stories of King's. It's also so brutal, yet I couldn't help but laughing at so many of the pranks that Gaunt plays (except for Brian, that one was so sad).

I loved the movie of Needful Things, it's one of my favorite movies. It was because of that movie that I wanted to try reading some Stephen King. Sadly, I couldn't get into the book, but I really liked hearing about it from you here. I like that the movie is very similar to the book (if I understood you correctly). To me Leland was just Satan outright, that was my interpretation from the movie. I didn't realize (since I'd only seen the movie) about the Ace Merrill connection from Stand By Me (The Body), very cool! Thank you for another great video!

Great review, Jimmy! I think the book ranks #2 for me, behind IT. Such a fun book. I got one of my sons to check it out, he loved it! Not a fan of the film (maybe parts). Thanks for the review!

LOVED the book! Now just gotta see the movie. Jaw actually dropped when you mentioned Ace was in "The Body"; It's been so long I didn't remember the name. I enjoyed the references to characters in his other works though. Gotta read them all now and watch Castle Rock. Pg. 715 Andy Clutterbuck is described as 2 years away from falling through ice. Is this purely description or a reference to a future story King will write?

I've got to start re-reading the earlier Stephen King books. It's been years and years. I just finished reading, for the first time, the Bill Hodges trilogy and I really enjoyed the three books. I'm looking forward to his next book, Holly, as I love her character.

I read SK a very long time ago. in order to reacquaint myself with his books, which one would you recommend I read first?

Hey there! I heard that as well! Thanks for reaching out. I would recommend one of his earlier works. Maybe Salems Lot, Pet Sematary or The Shining.

"Gaunt and Pangborn never interacted until the final scene." See, I actually dislike this. Unfortunately this formula has been used in the last 3 or 4 King books that I've read. I just want a story where the protagonist and antagonist interact throughout the book.

I just finished this book last month. A part of me wanted Ace Merrill to have some sort of redemption arc, and somehow die a hero. Well, it turns out, he's just a major dickhead and that wasn't possible. Lol.

I haven’t read any Steven King, and I’m not sure if anyone’s asked you this question yet, so I’m sorry for being ignorant with this. Do you think that Steven King said his writing is all occurring in the same universe because he planned it out, or do you think it was an after thought that he made and started writing around it?

Maybe try The Chestnut Man by Soren Sveistrup or Chasing The Boogeyman by Richard Chizmar. They are both thrillers about trying to track down a serial killer.
