I love this novella collection! I love all the stories in this one. 1922 is probably my favorite, i read that as almost as a dark comedy, especially the way the audio narrator performs it. Big Driver is excellent, but hard to read because of the content, probably my least fav if I had to pick one. Fair Extension, more of a short story, one of my fav short stories, one that always sticks with me A Good Marriage is great because King is at his best horror wise when he tackles realistic horror. Great video!

Full dark no stars is the first book by Stephen king that I read I did enjoy the stories in it 😃 but my favorite is big driver

Thoroughly enjoyed all the novellas in this collection and is the only King novella collection I can really say that about. A bit hard to pick my favorite of the stories but I think Fair Extension gets the nod. Could it be because it’s the only one left to not get adapted so far, maybe just perhaps.

1922 scarred me for life with its images of rats (which is why I couldn’t get myself into finishing the movie). I loved it and very much enjoyed Big Driver (loved the movie btw) & A Good Marriage (hated the movie), but I didn’t care enough for Fair Extension-actually it is the only novella in this collection that I forgot what it’s about. Great video, Dave, as always!

I really like this collection. And tbh this is a book that I recommend to King newbies as it has great story telling, mostly gritty realism character driven stuff, but with a touch of the supernatural in Fair Extension.

@@DaveReadsKing I forgot to say, that my (Canadian) paperback actually also includes Under the Weather (I'm not sure why...), which is I think is great and just makes the collection even stronger!

Currently put this book off as I'm reading the handmaid's tale instead Wanted to get reviews first as the last book I read was disappointing (not a King book) Edit: You've convinced me to read it!

Like what the other comments say, 1922 was my favorite out of the collection. The adaptation of it proves Thomas Jane should be a more well known actor.

Under the Dome was my FIRST SK book... Wow! I loved it and flew through it! I especially loved the nuclear type explosion of the meth lab! Like you I was really let down with the ending. I would LOVE to see your review of the series... I watched it alongside the book and noticed that the only similarities was that there WAS a dome and that there were people under that dome! OMG!

I'm planning on watching the adaptation of 1922 soon I heard the adaptation of a good marriage isn't good so I'm not going to watch that one

I'm about halfway through Big Driver just now having recently read the rest of them, and I think this has to be my favourite collection of his I've read so far. Every story is superb. And the very last page of 1922 creeped me out big style.

Nice! Favourite collection is a big shout - I would have a couple of the short story books ahead of this, but in terms of novella collections it’s definitely right up there
