His book have scary elements but i never call them horror novels. They are essentially thrillers where normal humans are being put into abnormal situations. They are real stories, not just kids getting slaughtered at summer camp.

Pet sematary was the first book of his i read when i was 11. I loved that book so much and i read it so many times that the pages are starting to fall out

I just bought his book ‘Danse Macabre’ earlier this week and I love it so far. King talks all about the Horror genre and what scares us. I think he should do an update of the book now. That’d be awesome. Love his interviews. He’s awesome.

I know what truly scares Stephen. He had said going into one of my childrens' bedrooms and finding one of them not breathing! Yes! THAT would scare me, too! I bumped into him, actually in a local store in Falmouth, Maine, a convenience store one September around 1993...….

I know this will sound weird to some people and to some they will sadly know where I'm coming from. Stephen King saved my sanity as a teenager. When i read his books i could leave my horrible home life for a few chapters at a time. When people talk about his drug/alcohol abuse. He's human. Shit happens. Mr. King is the one who told us He had a problem. He's overcome His addictions and is a better man for it. Be like STEPHEN KING!

I’ve always been astounded at how well he writes the internal mechanism of childhood. Especially traumatic childhood. Some of it is a little dramatic...not that many kids speak so eloquently in real life, but when I read It and The Body (Stand By Me), I was just so amazed at how well he got the inner workings of the childhood psyche going. And boy does he like to put his children characters through hell 😂

I was terrified to be on an elevator after I had my first child. I got on and the door closes...I started hyperventilating. I was late to a job interview because I had to walk up 10 flights of stairs. I’m a huge Steven King fan, but who isn’t? He is so amazing. I would love for him to write my autobiography. I wrote a children’s book once. I sent it to Dorrance Publishing Co. They said that they wanted to publish it but that I would have to pay them. I wrote back “Why?” They said that’s how they did it because I was no Steven King. I said “He is my favorite horror author but I don’t think I would want to buy a children’s book from him. I really would but seriously, comparing me to the Master just made me cry.
