Hendry plays like he knows the fix is in and he is messing with Lee. The safety that pushed the red over the pocket and brought the cue ball back? I would wager that was Hendry telling Lee 'I'm on to you.'

Hindsight is 20/20 however whilst watching this live on TV and noticing Lee was using a cricket bat for a cue my suspicions were aroused...and when the Ladbrokes betting slip fell out of his pocket... and when Lee stood on his chair, lit up a cigar and shouted "hurray, that's me and the missus going to Lanzarote for a fortnight in July!" after Hendry won the frame..

Stephen Lee was staying in a condominium block in Bangkok above my friend's restaurant. He was there for a week or two and was regularly at the bar. He'd put on a lot of weight, this was about 2017/18. There was a story in the press about him being kicked out of somewhere, possibly HK or China, for running a snooker school whilst banned from doing so. Very quiet, I never saw him speak to anyone except the staff.

Not sure how you could say ‘beyond a reasonable doubt’ that Lee deliberately lost that frame. In the entire frame the only time I was in Any way suspicious was when he played an optimistic pot on the brown (when he needed a snooker) and there was a potential snooker available for him to play.

11 minutes in - Stephen Lee spent ages trying to work out how the hell to convincingly fail to take advantage of a red over the pocket, all the others lined up perfectly, and pink and black on their spots. I'm not sure if he intended to go in off, or just to run into the red and lose position, but he must have been cursing his luck when Hendry gifted him such an opportunity the one bloody time he was trying to lose against him. 😂

Watching that I have to conclude every frame I've seen played at the Legion is fixed as well.

It was a poor game of snooker by both players. It was difficult to work out which player was trying to lose the game at times.

The 2 of them should have been banned for the pain this frame caused the viewing public even Eddie Charlton was quicker than this

I think it looked more like Hendry was trying to throw the frame. He missed several shots that would have been very easy for him at that time...

The reason lee kept missing was because he wanted the frame over as he was fucking starving, bless him.

This reminds me of the Malcom in the middle episode where Francis and Spangler both try to lose the pool game. Hendry played horrible, made it hard for Lee to lose the frame, allthough it really doesn't seem like Lee tries to fix it. 12:03 If he did that on purpose he deserves an award, not a ban.

After watching basically every snooker tournament on tv for the last 20+ years i honestly can say i've seen hundreds of more suspicious frames. This, of course, has nothing to do with Lee being innocent or guilty

This is one of my favourite snooker videos. I would like someone to do a voiceover with the thoughts in pastie-boy's head as Hendry fucks up the simplest of shots and gifting him easy opportunities.

I cant see how anyone could say beyond reasonable doubt that the game was fixed.

"Hendry couldn't hit that brown to save his life" Well Lee will set up the perfect shot for him and concede. But if we're banning him Higgins should be too.

How anyone can watch this frame and say 100% Lee was cheating has a better eye then I do. They both had a poor frame. All I can say is there must be some behind the scenes evidence to proof beyond doubt it was thrown on purpose. I have seen many a player including o sulivan, Hendry, trump and so on miss easy shots

The in-off at 12:05 was hardly "a bad mistake" as Willie Thorne (the commentator) suggested. It was, actually, really unlucky and, up until that point, Stephen Lee had done nothing wrong. Just a couple of bad contacts (kicks), plus blue, pink, and black had been out of commission ensuring break-building was well nigh impossible (unless your name is Rocket Ronnie, of course!). Just feel Stephen Lee was harshly treated in all the match-fixing accusations.

Watching this I've come to the conclusion that Stephen was cheating! Just not sure which one.

The most damning evidence against him , I believe , was when he got to the " snooker required " stage . He ( LEE ) didn't dare lay hendry in a snooker for fear of being presented with a reasonably easy finish which he may very well have perceived as being far to obvious to miss . Also his 4 or 5 attempts at a snooker at this stage were very feeble indeed considering the position of the colours and the relatively low pressure given with it being the first frame .

Anyone who knows snooker will know Lee deliberately lost this frame. Notice he never misses a pot - that would be too obvious. Instead he adopts a variety of other methods: 1) he runs out of position slightly, even when good position is simple 2) he lands too straight on pots thus preventing gaining good position 3) deliberate in-off on the red over the pocket - he could have played that a hundred different ways without risking a foul 4) overly simple safety play 5) when presented with a choice of shots, he chooses 2nd or 3rd best 6) when he's ahead he plays safeties that release balls instead of tying them up. 7) he had a number of opportunities to lay a snooker at the end, but he never got anywhere near. A lot of people have claimed Hendry was doing the same. He wasn't. Notice, when presented with a break to leave Lee needing snookers, he took it without hesitation. Hendry was struggling with his game and this was the beginning of the end of his playing career, yet he would have sold his Grandmother rather than lose a frame. Having won so much he didn't need to resort to match fixing, especially as he knew this would leave his reputation and his future pundit career in tatters. He had a poor frame by his standards, but he was genuinely trying to win. I feel sorry for Lee. As the judge said, he was a vulnerable, weak man.

why was hendry playing so wrecklessly was he involved too?

I see absolutlely no evidence that this was a “fixed frame” thrown by Lee. If anything Hendry played the worse shots. I think Lee was fitted up by the snooker authorities because his face didn’t fit, or maybe he was too fat for the image of the game. If that’s the case, watch your back Mark Allen

I have watched this frame several times and Hendry plays SO badly by his standards, it’s as if he KNOWS Lee has to lose this frame and is saying “Go on then - make it absolutely obvious what is going on…”

This is evidence of Lee trying to throw a frame? If you told me a player was suspected of trying to throw this frame, for sure I would've said Hendry(which I'm 99.5% sure is a preposterous notion.) A few loose shots at the end from Lee are miniscule compared to the number of bizarre bad shots from Hendry.

I can't see anything 'questionable' about this frame at all, and I've been watching snooker for 45 years. Ridiculous what they did to Stephen Lee - can only assume there's some evidence they've not made public, or (more likely) someone at WS had it in for him for some reason. Either way, we have been unfairly robbed of a talent.

Lee wasn’t banned solely on the basis of this one game, he was alleged to have been involved in multiple fixed games, 6 or 7 from memory against multiple different players.

I don't know about this. A lot of pots that lee played that wobbled in the jaws and came out, you quite regularly see top players missing them by a lot more. Plus you would be more likely to do hendry for match fixing when you see the quality of his shots.

Lee's ban actually ends in 2024 so he could realisticdlly make a comeback if he wanted. He is a gifted player who was making enough money without getting involved in match fixing. I guess you can never have enough for some people.
