good routine, smooth tricks,,, "but hate you, love you"? strong words, I don't see any emotions from her but I guess emotions don't belong in this kind of dancing. It doesn't have to have anything to do with the song just the beats ,,, am I right?

I’m just seeing this now. You know, funny enough, when we danced the prelim round I put a lot of emotion in and then one of the top pro/world champion of our community told me to tone it down for finals, that people wanted to see happy faces also and just me. In hindsight, I regret it. 😉

@@SonyaDessureault I'm sorry to hear you had any regrets . If I could give some advice, don't make last minute changes. Have faith in your coaches but don't have too many coaches or coaches that coach to many . Pick a coach that knows you well, understands you and has long term goals for you. You can't please everyone, don't ever try. People that give advice often have an agenda, don't listen. If you try to take a lesson from every judge they will expect you to follow them, don't do it. Some will be offended if you take a lesson from everyone but them ...better to not train with any of the judges. I know that is difficult if you already have. Trends often change,,. So don't be afraid to do which way that you like best and make it your signature. Copying everyone else will make you less memorable. I feel that alot of dancers don't show expression or emotion because they aren't good at it. If you feel good and it's easy for you, have someone record your facials while you over do it and watch it yourself .. edit yourself. Nerves in competition make it harder but if you can show your feelings and not be a robot alot of people appreciate and love the ability some people have to express themselves, connect to the music and show passion for everything . Also the energy that is created by two does not need to be dulled down ,it is exhilarating to see and feel. There are dancers that I love because I can see their joy. I would hate for them to go into mechanical smile. I am a judge and old and experienced. I don't like when the only opinion I can give is a number rank... 1st place learns nothing lol I like to give criticism with some realism but also with love for the art . I don't have to play politics on RU-vid ... Please keep dancing your skills , you are good enough to be yourself now, do it , life is short. If someone doesn't care for your style OH WELL at least it was yours. Be who you want to be.
