I also lost my dad suddenly when he was relatively young in his 50’s and I was in my late 20’s. I never grieved properly or shed a tear following his death until the arrival of this song over 15 years after his death. It has untapped a grief inside of me that I’ve kept bottled up all of this time, it’s been a weird, cathartic experience. Music is such a powerful thing and Stephen Wilson Jnr has a special gift. Thank you sir.

It's been 29 years since I lost my Dad at 16. I still cry about missing him. Hell I am right now. This song hits very hard, but in a good way. To the guy who said about his dad being an alcoholic... Mine was as well but got sober when I was 4. He was an amazing Dad! Remember sobriety is in your Dad's hands. No person can make him. Thank you SWJ!

@@AvonBarksdale024 I just lost my dad a few weeks ago. SWJ has been therapy for me. Alcoholism is a nasty thing. The biggest thing I've learned is to not blame myself and know that there isnt a lot you can do for them, only they have the power to stop.

Battle the thought of this all the time but then I’ll see the light and beauty of life the next day….then back to negativity the next day all over again. Constant cycle and hoping for a better day but it repeats. Don’t want to give up on my kids and family but the scale always, always tips no matter how hard I try. It’s just like it’s second nature to end it all for myself. Is it selfishness ? Just don’t believe I have any more to give

As Stephen has said, a profound loss bookends your life. My best friend died right before his 15th birthday. My childhood ended abruptly, as I wrestled with the suddenness and permanence of death. I survived the grief. I became a nurse partly because life and death were in clearer focus. Your words are healing Stephen. ❤Please keep the songs coming because we are listening. All of this is a masterpiece.. i sit here crying. Crying because this video is everything.. the smile on the fathers face when he not only stuck up for his sister but he stood up for himself. The father was proud of him. Not paying attention to his father because he feels he has so much time with him. Smoking and hanging with friends as the whole world around him is flying by.. getting the phone call. Seeing his father gone in that bed..wishing he had one more coversation. One more time to ask him a dumbass question. One more time to be called by the funny nicname his father gave him. The whole time his future self sits as a passenger in the back seat dizzy,burnt out,tired..its all so fucking real..its painful, its beautiful.Its everything all at once.😢 SWJ, thank you💜

“Grief is only love, that’s got no place to go”. That phrase is so true yet I never personally realized it until I heard your song. These lyrics are a blessing to those mourning a loss - that the power of the pain they feel is a mirror image of their love for that soul that has left us, that we all miss dearly the ability to tell those souls we’ve lost how much we love them.

I lost my dad at age two so never really knew him and my mother at seventeen and a half, but the keeper of family history, the eldest of my sisters passed on June third just gone......this song simply just works. Lost my big brother 5/25/2021 to complications sustained from an ATV accident. Just 9 months after that I held my dad while he passed. It's been 2 years now. I've been playing this song for several months now. Until someone experiences a loss it's hard to comprehend just how much grief/love you had for your people. This album is incredible! This track in particular resonates so much with how I feel after losing my dad and best friend back in 2008, I think of him every day. Just came from mom and dad’s gravesite watering flowers. Dad left a year ago today and mom in Jan of the year 23. I miss them so much. I know I will see them again and they are still alive…yet I’m 😔 🫶🏻 I love you!
