-- What are the difficulties you foresee in developing a symbolic discourse language?
-- Do we live in a deterministic universe?

I usually skip the Q/A section but I found my self learning more than the original lecture. You can find that wolfram have a very unique prospective than other AI scientists.

How do we maintain the clumpiness of collective human meaning when the number of souls becomes transfinite? This was Wolfram's last question to himself in the discussion section! Any ideas?

Informative talk and discussions. We care for other living things, materials and stuff like that only because after all in a way or other we need them for our survival and comfort. It's not the laws or principles that control everyone around us, it is the vulnerability and weakness as human beings. Even then we kill each other and wage wars. When AI systems become "intelligent" as human beings, only it's possible vulnerabilities and weaknesses can control them (at least partially). Every other set of rules and protocols set by human beings will diminish in time. I am not good at philosophy :P.

I really like Stephen Wolframs perspectives. Too bad he doesn't give credit to the origin on many of the ideas.

and the cost to that would be? and the benefit to that would be? how does one delineate the root from which their efforts stem? his efforts are well documented. and that is itself too large to distill ... and you need more? i never understand the need for "more" attribution. what is the demand for this? how does this move his arguments forward? if you don't care about his arguments or want non-wolfram analysis ... well the world is pretty big!
