I did get that excellent STEPPENWOLF box, which is really perfect, other than that confusing choice of a poster. Great mastering, satisfying book, nice mini LP sleeves and cool "album cover aping" artwork as the CD face! Sadly, I screwed the pooch a bit with IRON BUTTERFLY. See, I purchased one of those "perfectly fine" Original Album Series 5CD dealios about 8 months or so before this very nice IB box was released. And you know, other than the detailed book, the poster and the certain gatefolds, that OAS set does suit me fine. So I'm not sure I'll ever get this box, but yeah, if I'd known ahead of time that she was-a-comin', I would've waited for it. It is very nice. Much better poster too! Thanks for displaying so well, so people in this type of situation can fully "see it" Marc

Larry, sorry to hear about Jinx. My condolences. Thanks for showing off the box sets. Both are bands I’ve wanted to get more into.

Two great bands indeed! I still can remember when I heard "In a Gadda" for the first time. I was 12 and in Austria on a vacation with my parents. I was reading a book and the radio played that song. Never before I had noticed such long tunes. I thought they were doing the next one when suddenly that organ appeared again. Yes, "Metamorphosis" is my top album of theirs. And "Monster" from Steppenwolf.

I have all of the Iron Butterfly CDs but I would love to have the box set. To me the real last Irion Butterfly release was Scorching Beauty released in 1975. Although a totally different sound its still an excellent album. Almost my favorite one. Its sad to say that there is still a band out touring under the name of Iron Butterfly that has zero original members, Or even early replacement members for that matter. I'm sorry to hear about your cat. I know how it feels because I lost my little female cat (Toonses) I had for 14 years last year and I still miss her. And I hop you have a great New Years and I look forwards to another year of "High Quality Entertainment".

Steppenwolf were pretty good Larry and largely Canadian but Iron Butterfly were a one hit wonder who managed to take their lone hit and extend it to a couple of albums and even to a box set,pretty smart. Bob.

Nice sets. I have never gotten into either band and just know one song from each. I know if I mention either band to my older brother he will tell me the SAME story when he first heard In A Gadda Da Vida and Born to Be Wild in the late 60s😪💤 😉 I like the story of the Iron Butterfly singer trying to say In the Garden of Eden stoned... a kind of Spinal Tap moment 😂😂 Whenever I try to sing In A Gadda Da Vida I end up singing Sunshine Superman..... ? ☺️
