What yammy means is you get hired as a front store worker, then you’re able to work in the pharmacy and they will pay everything for you (License Tech) to work in pharmacy as A Pharmacy Tech, not a pharmacist. Im at this part and its not easy to become a pharmacist
It’s really important to be a people person, especially if you consider retail pharmacy. I’ve worked with pharmacists who are not people people, and it makes the lives of both parties harder than they should be. You don’t necessarily have to be extroverted or extremely outgoing, but you must be patient and friendly at all times. It’s preferable if you don’t have frantic mood swings with your patients as well.
Those pursuing this need to keep in mind that the college GPA evaluation will be very much a numbers game, so there may be a disadvantage to having a difficult major or going to a difficult four year school. The core courses, especially required sciences are where the main focus should be. Dropping or retaking classes will hurt you even if you finally finish with a good grade. Try to get the sciences done at a community college. They will put extreme emphasis on your organic chemistry grades.
I've heard of pharmacists who get out in 5 years but that is only if they find a program that does not require a bachelor's + entering an accelerated (Read: year round NO summer breaks) program. Most programs are 4+4. (I.E. four years of undergrad and four years of pharmacy school) Some programs are 0 to 6. This means you are accepted right out of high school and your pre-pharmacy courses are built into the program. Note: if you don't get a bachelor's you are limiting your school options, but you do get finished sooner. However, you should only skip the bachelor's if you KNOW what you are getting into and you are CERTAIN you want to be a pharmacist. I would suggest shadowing a pharmacist and/or working as a pharmacy technician first just so you get a better idea of what working in a pharmacy is actually like. Working as a pharmacy tech is probably the best option because 1) It gives you work experience in a pharmacy to boost your application with. 2) Many states only allow those with a license to be behind the pharmacy counter. 3) You can earn some money while going to school. 4) You can potentially pick the brains of the pharmacists you work with. I would also look into seeing of you can take your pre-pharmacy courses at a community college and transfer them over to an in state program because community colleges are cheaper and pharmacy school typically costs 150 to 200K.

Tbh i love science in general , if it's science then i am going for it , my father is a pharmacist , i am trying to improve what i could but ever since covid came the schools are messed up causing most of the important stuff we need to learn for the future to disappear... science is really important to be learnt and so is Math and English , they both need to be learnt if you wanna become good at science , it takes years to learn something and i am not going to push myself through it
