O.G. Transporter828 - I have certainly driven well over one-million accident free miles since 1986!
I got my commercial license back in 1984. Back then they were called a Chauffeur's License. I started transcontinental driving (lower 48 states and Canada) in 1986. I have experienced many things since then, including owning two trucks. But even before then... as a 17 year old young man, I took a solo cross country drive in my first car - a 1969 Dodge Charger - from San Antonio, Texas to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, round trip! It was a fun and easy thing for me. These days, I am a professional driver of automobiles and motorcycles as well as class 8 trucks. I have also earned a living working as a Driving Instructor for two out of the three vehicle types mentioned here. (I'll let you guess which two!)
Trust me when I say, "...gaining your Commercial Driver License is a huge achievement for most people." And also believe me when I say, "...it is literally the begining of your road towards becoming a true Professional behind the wheel."
