the crucial part that leads to understanding @2:23..thanks to the video author..although in the end i figured out i don't need that stereo mix at all..i just set in "Audacity" Audio Settings: "Interface Host": "Windows WASAPI", then "Playback Device": "my external audiocard's output channel (1 out of 3)", then in "Recording" section: "my external audio card's output channel (the same channel as in previous section)(LOOPBACK)", and then in Recording Settings(3rd row down from Audio Settings): "disabled all 4 options"..although the CRUCIAL ONE that needs to be disabled is: "Software Playthrough Of Input", the rest can be enabled if you prefer..and everything can be recorded what's playing on PC at the moment..anyways, this video gave me good ideas n in the end lead me to the final destination - to what i was searching for.
Stereo mix records very destorted sound.. Please help. How can i record my high quality desktop audio in realtime as stereo mix does (without audocity)
Why would u want to use stereo mix just to get the output sound from aux to ur usb headset? Not properly explained. I mean u plugin ur headset u can just hear whatever is playing.. right?
I haven't used Stereo Mix for more than a decade, but as far as I remember it, I would use it when I was in a voice chat room, you could then play a news clip audio and share it with the rest of the people in the room, they could then hear the audio clip as well without me having to play the audio clip loudly through my external speaker and then share the sound with them through my microphone. It is kinda insane how easy Stereo Mix would work 2 decades ago, but now with the newest and supposedly more advanced operating systems it simply doesn't work.
