@@ItsmeAsher101 technically, but it could be the same situation like Asia and Europe, where the cultural differences would lead to a classification of Africa as another continent, not classified as a part of Europe. But if there wasn't no mediterranean, Europe would turn into what most of Russia and Canada are; a sparsely populated cold desert of snow
I’m a geography nerd, so this painfully hurts me, but yes, most Americans aren’t the best at geography. But I honestly blame it on schools, not all schools teach geography, and I think that’s just absolute cataclysm.
That's weird honestly Here in the UK, we get taught geography as a standard lesson, and choose whether or not to do it for your GCSEs (which I think is our version of SATs)
The problem is that the Americans who are normal don't stand out- because they're normal. Theres more idiots then they're willing to admit in America but not everyone thinks the 2+2= fish meme from Minecraft is real
Yeah i really understand that logic because that's what i applied to vegan and LGBTQ community (supporters included) or even the BLM, i know that there's people who actually have reason and genuinely wanted to support the cause but then there's the one who did it because they wanted to say that they're good people. This probably fits more to the 3rd stereotype but point was the same, the one that's normal isn't vocal
@@angusbotham2049 basic as in Africa is a continent, and France is a country. I'm American and I'm sick of things that start as jokes turning into wildly believed myths.

Some more than others (looking at you politicians) 3: Uh huh yes yes I am narcissism uh huh uh huh 4: bruh everyone in my town sucks at math, that's why school is forcing us to become accountants 5: oui oui Asia is in China shashumga
"americans think they're better than everyone" this is a weird stereotype when you think of some of the americans' culture being "my heritage is from ireland, I'm irish" I guess they get it from the people like mr ben over there who thinks that america is the best country. (it's not, this comes from an american)
We have that stereotype about seppos because they are terrible tourists, being very smug and self centered. This is probably more of a social class problem tho. Although, there is the ongoing online discourse of seppos saying how important to the rest of the world.
@@boxinabox6608 is there something wrong with loving your country? At least our whole country isn't in poverty, and it's not even 300 years old since it was established
I had to test the “Europe is a country in Africa” one on my parents one time by having them name countries of the world and they both got the same score of about 90 which is pretty good considering they got confused when Yugoslavia wasn’t a country anymore
I'm Scottish and the most stereotype things I hear about is that all Scots have red hair, wear kilts all the time and everyone in Scotland has a thick Scottish accent. Bonus one is we dye our hair in Irn-Bru.
It's more so a small amount of people fucking love guns to the point they have dozens, a large amount of us have a pistol in the nightstand for self defense.
So I’m decent at geography, but when I was younger I had the worst idea of what the world map looked like. I remember learning a bit about the Soviet Union and Russia being cold in 5th grade and I thought to myself “wait, I thought Russia is tropical” my god I don’t think I had ever seen a map cause I also kept mistaking China for a continent

0:03 Correct... kinda, as more of the population is obese than fit, but not by too much 0:06 Ok, in some areas its more correct than others 0:10 True 0:12 Like the first one, kinda true, but in reality it's about half and half 0:17 It's usually that Americans think Africa is a country, but still it emphasizes that Americans suck at geography, which is true for a lot of Americans
right, Every single American in America just think they're better than everybody. it's funny that people rag on America for being an obese country when Canada has around the same obesity rate. Where do you get your statistics? i find it very unlikely that every American ever is egotistical, dumb and fat at the same time, when America is the richest country in the entire world.
@@trcaptainsidog your comment is agreeing more with the stereotypes than saying it’s not everybody. You’re going into the majority here which has no evidence for

Zimbax: you all are obsessed with guns and proceeds to throw a load of ak-47s on the ground. Russians: Hold my vodka and give me those ak guns gimme gimme
Bruh. I’ve lived in America my whole life and I’ve never even seen a gun in person before. The best stereotype is we answer “it depends on where you live” to every question about America. Downtown Harlem is very different to suburban Arizona is very different to Alaska is very different to Louisiana is very different to rural Iowa.
@@Ultra2257 those are hunting rifles and you need A LOT of paperwork to get them, and considering the situation in your country are you really going to say anything?
That’s cuz all the worst Americans are also the loudest. No one in my family, nor friend group thinks they are better than any other person/country. Just depends on the type of person you ask
Thats just someone who takes care of their guns, not a gun addict. Also an inporttant distinction, theres a different between taking interest in guns, and having an addiction.

I've actually seen real examples of each of these, so I'm not sure they're stereotypes anymore. Most of the math though I'm pretty sure comes from conversion issues between imperial and metric (even though our guns use metric... seriously, it can't be that hard to ditch imperial and Fahrenheit...).
Dude your saying to not just change every government and non government owned sign using imperial or Fahrenheit in the whole country but have full grown adults and young children be forced to use something they probably never had to in almost there entire life so yeah no big deal or anything not to mention the political and social unrest that would cause
@@thatpersonyt247 You say that, but then look at cursive. Of course it would be a slow change, but with the amount of things that have gone wrong because of us being one of very few countries that still use imperial, it is a very necessary change.

Honestly, I only have a problem with the one where people think that we think that we're better than everyone else. *we know we suck.* I've never heard the bad at math one, but I've heard a more generalized version that we're generally stupid
Not necessarily that we suck just that we aren't better then everyone else. No matter how bad are country seems (it's pretty bad right now obviously) there are definitely worse places.
Spot on with the gun thing So what that if the top of my head I can recall that the glock 17 Austrian semi automatic pistol was a revolutionary weapon that shifted glock from a tool company into a gun manufacturer. It was Gaston glocks 17 invention, although it's standard magazine capacity of 17 rounds of 9mm was a coincidence, and was one of the weapons major quirks, due to its simple design. And so what if I know Its polymer construction made it quite sturdy and rumored to be invisible to X-rays, although it's near 80% content of metal proved it wasn't. It is a relatively cheap design that is also easy to operate, making it extremely widespread among completely separate groups of people. Multiple types of glocks followed suit, including the glock 18 with its open top cooling, high fire rate full auto and added select fire with safety Just cause I know that doesn't make me obsessed with guns smh😒
I think math is reference to Americans still using the imperial system of measurement though I think NASA uses the metric system since 1990.. Which means they used the imperial system in 1969 when we went to the moon lol
I honestly disagree on everything. Okay sure, America may have a high crime rate, but I do still think some people in America know geography a little. And yes, Murphy, you have a good point. Math is important in many categories.
Yea that geography one really looks like truth. Many of us think that where Geography ends, USA begins and USA is not fot for any Geography Lover which is kinda not true.
I mean, a few of these are true…. There’s a shocking amount of us that are shit at geography. Edit: Damn I didn’t think that many of us were shit at geography…
The one that always gets me that we "all hate metric" which is false, most people i know prefer imperial, and people who use metric (this happens with people in the uk alot imo) hear one dude that lives in the us say they like metric better and that means we all love metric more than imperial.
Me and some of my friends have this inside joke where whenever we talk about math that has nothing to do with the rest of what we were doing we will explain how 2x5=7
I mean like, I had a mate who was from America and ce here for 2 years, couldn't have a conversation with him without him bringing up how great America is and how flat and bad it was here. I live in wellington, the windows city in the world
Wellington, New Zealand? And yeah I've had a few online mates from the US and most of them are up there own arse (not all, some of them were actually proper nice)
The The Desert Eagle Mark 19 ( more known as the Deagle or Desert Eagle XIX) is a powerful pistol, commonly chambered in 50 Action Express rounds. It is iconic, similar to the AK47 in its fame. The weapon is constantly switching manufacturing locations, be it Iraq or America. Though often believed to be used in the military, it is not actually used on the army due to its low practicality. It became famous quickly due to its iconic look, power, and appearances in movies. While the gun is quite powerful, it is surprising low in the recoil aspect. While many may think it only shoots 50.AE rounds, there are other ammo types that can be loaded with a few modifications to the magazine, barrel, and a few other bits.
@Killerninjaz13 these are "stereotypes," that doesn't make them true for everybody. Not even sure if my family owns a gun, we're originally Indian but I've just lived here for most of my life
The only true one is the math one. Everyone only remembers up to algebra, anyone that knows more already works at NASA. The geography one is a little true most aren't that bad but it's getting worse.
Not really. It varies on who suxkz at math and not many Americans think they are the best. But saying europeans think they are better than everyone else is not a stereotype.
It is kinda sad to see American be stereotyped so badly for no reason. If you look for weird stuff you find it in ANY country. Normal people won’t stand out and people outside the US get all their info from the internet “comment section” who are filled with uneducated people jealous and hating on America. Americans don’t think they are the best. I swear people try to hate on America a little to hard.
