I’m the ”This one time at band camp” stereotype. 😂 Seriously though, band camp makes for some very good stories. Example? I have very sensitive skin and I’d always end up sweating sunscreen into my eyes, so I couldn’t use it because of the way my body reacted. My mum wasn’t going to let me go the last day of band camp because of how swollen my face was from all that UV exposure. Eventually, after some bargaining she let me. I’m lucky my face wasn’t permanently scared, because I did have some sunburn that left some scars for a while. I peeled so bad. Just layers and layers of skin. Oh, another time, me being a dumb freshman only a couple of days into band camp thought I’d be fine when I didn’t have a water for that day. ....My director had to run and catch me and drag me off the field while we were marching, because I started to pass out from heat exhaustion in the middle of it. It’s more common than you’d probably think for marching kids to just.... go down. Oh, also, the sing your part stereotype is our whole damn bus to competition. It is a required tradition that we count off and sing our parts once we’re close to the school.

Lol, the "pretender" was me as a freshmen when I was still learning saxophone. A year later I am section leader and first chair, don't ask me how that happened :P

I am literally all of these 😂 Mr. Forgetter... I literally forgot my clarinet for the state marching band competition. Mr. Saver... I haven't thrown away a song since 6th grade. It pains me to have to turn in sheet music when it's the original copy. Plays All The Time Guy... I regularly have at least a harmonica in pocket, I love playing at random times just to drive people nuts.

this year for me there is NO faking the hard parts because our band is so small and this year I'm the only tuba, I was trumpet the last 2 years, that's how you know your in a for a fun time.

At band camp all the trumpet section brought water guns and ran into the trombone sectional and we sprayed them with a lot of water. We got a temp teacher fired and a couple of us got kicked from band.
