I like my SteriPen pre-filter, but I wish there was more mesh to give me a higher flowrate.

But can I pour boiling water through it?? I want to use it winter camping after melting snow.

or you could just carry some coffee filters and make a cone out of a piece of cardboard or an empty soda bottle (cut the top off).
