I recommend a clip from december 9th 1980. It was when Howard worked in Detroit before he was the "shock jock". It was the morning after john lennon was killed and you can just hear how sad Howard was. Its like listening to another person.
@@daltonfarrisI love how everyone criticizes him now The man changed radio and gave us a few decades of amazing content So now he interviews big name ppl Get over it
@@DannyRedCheeks Because he started off as the badboy of radio. Now he's become a whiny pussy who cries his little eyes out that everyone doesnt have his hyper sensitive political stances.
can't believe how clear the recording is...I had a friend who used to tape the show back then on audio cassette, so he could listen at night. who knew all these years later they would still working.
What brought them together was she was a black woman that gave Howard the ability to get away with what he did in the beginning. She's been riding his coattails ever since.
No matter how terrible Howie is now, you have to admire the guy's guts back then, this was revolutionary listening to this in the car. He didn't have huge money so he was taking a big risk railing the way he did. Robin also was excellent, but just lost her hunger.
Looking at the last few shows, seems like Robin has increased her hunger immensely. She looks about 70 pounds bigger. She needs to put down the twinkies and ho hos and spend some of her millions on lipo and a physical trainer, or get the operation that makes your stomach smaller and you eat less, imo
Listen to this classic Howard and Robin , anyone who has ever commented that Robin there to just laugh , the laughs on you they are and always will be number one
It does make it a bit confusing. From what I read, they did that because the 2 management guys (Vin and Kenny from what I remember) in the movie are a composite of Kevin Matheny (Pig Virus). I may have spelled some names wrong, but I remember reading this years ago around the time the movie was released on VHS.
Reading/watching Private Parts, the real life pig virus ripping and bashing seems to be greater and harsher than what Stern recalled. And I’m okay with this real life way Metheny was treated as payback.
I think since he got on Satellite Radio he has "won" & forgotten what brought him to the dance. So now on his high & mighty chair he has cooled it down. Howard Stern is definitely his own worst nightmare in the year 2023.
You got that right. He’s no longer edgy, relevant, funny or interesting. Everything that a die hard fan loved about him during his golden era, is now gone. We loved that he was politically incorrect and was an anti Hollywood establishment personality. Now he’s become everything that he goofed on and mocked. Just not the same show. He may have evolved in his personal life, but the show has suffered mightily. I tried to listen a few times and it is unlistenable. I have cancelled my subscription to Sirius
That's what competition and "fighting" for your job and against other people made Howard, Howard Stern the best on radio! After he got on Satellite, he left his competition and those screwing with his work. He has no real reason to go out of his way to keep listeners and be "edgy" or entertaining! Now I'm a huge HS fan, but even I noticed that the last 10 years the show has been on autopilot and not as good as it once was. And I've been listening since the early 80's.
Stewart I think you bumped your head somewhere along the way. Howard doesn't need to steal material from anyone. Howard has been on the radio with his own material for the past 45 plus years
Howard, Robin and Jackie were on fire here. Really were bad as.ses in radio. Then, Howard did his movie - and his whole mentality changed. By 2000 - the show became so boring. Show after terrestrial was weak. Some great breaks but nothing like terrestrial days from '87-97. Ten years of fire.
Funny how “Oriental” is some how taboo. some of the colloquialisms we develop for the different races for each generations, that once were considered appropriate, inevitably become “Dated” and therefore deemed insensitive or offensive just because they are attributed to an older generation.
Honestly I just got into Howard and I've been watching a lot of his old stuff and I got into it by Beetlejuice but his new stuff isn't bad sure he's changed but everything's changed there's nothing wrong with that. People need to forget the whole selling out the Hollywood thing so what man.
This is awkward as hell compared to what Howard and Robin came to sound like, and Fred hasn't developed his maestro-like sound effects skills which are sorely missed. And all the freaking clapping is annoying as hell.
Really shows how horrible he is now. He used to be such a pioneer, now hes another hollywood-esque follower. Sad stuff. They wont even say "Retard" anymore. The guy used to be such an edgelord, now hes as careful as can be. Sad....
@@LayneGerbig his mantra has changed. He is not the same anymore. He had conservative views. Look at his clientele on his interview panel. I was not going to throw a dig at you but since you started maybe you need get your head out from under the rock and smell the fresh air
You mean right wing, not conservative. Conservatism is many things but one thing it's not is being hell-bent on shattering the status quo with raunchy comedy. If anything that's the opposite of being a conservative. The show's politics have changed but Howard's personal politics have always been idiotic. He's a great broadcaster but his political knowledge has always been awful.
Holy fuck... could they get more feedback into this recording????? Did the person who recorded this hold a microphone up to the radio speaker???? because that's what it sounds like.
