Carrell was perfect for this. The idiot savant line is so absolutely Steve Martin. Seems so simple, but that was Steve's brilliance and Carrell captured it perfectly.

From stand-up comedy, to acting, writing, books, and plays. Steve Martin is one of the funniest and most gifted performers of our generation.

I'd like to see my mans Eddie Murphy get this award! His career spans over 30 years, and entails hits that add up to an amount that most in his field can't claim.

Look at Bush, pretending to understand the jokes

That was Bush being magnanimous and cordial to his guest, something I could not do with this character. His comedy eludes me. The man is NOT funny, rather pathetic. I think his characterizations in the IDIOT should have been recognized for what it really was, a dramatic autobiography. When he is choreographed, he is okay (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) but decidedly not funny doing his own material.
