Game 2 is going to be the classic either/or. We either see the Leafs stand back up, get fired up and sweep the lightning off the ice. Or they lay down and die and the series is essentially over. My Heart hopes for Steve and Leafs fans in general it's the former. But history of the Leafs in the playoff recently tells my head it's going to be the latter.

5-1 Rangers over the Devils in NJ was pretty bad too. Same thing, during the regular season the Devils usually had the edge. They didn't even score in regulation. The 1 goal they scored was a Jack Hughes penalty shot. 😂

Unfortunately, after the Lighting lost, there number 1 defenseman and two other players got cheap shot into concussion protocol. The Make-beleafs might actually make it out of the first round. Though something tells me that if they try that in the next round. The Bruins have enough depth to loose a couple of forwards and a defenseman for a game or two for defending a teammate.

i feel two ways about this. On one hand i feel sorry for Steve and Leafs fans. I've beent ereh before (see Tampas first round 2019) and granted i havent been there repeatedly i still feel the pan and heartbreak and heartache. On the other hands as a lightning fan i cant help but laugh when steve yells. its just fun and means the bolts are doing good/the leafs are doing bad. With that said I respect Steve and like him. He is fair and legit when it comes to being a fan and watching his videos. Well done Steve Hopefully i will be able to watch the next game with you.

We start our 4th line and slowest 2 defense. Great coaching Holl plays over 20 minutes. Mathews 17 minutes, Nylander 15 minutes Tavares 14 minutes. It's not the players it's the coaching

I'm a Habs fan who strongly dislikes the leafs but that 5th goal shouldn't have counted. No angle showed it was completely across the line. Sometimes if using common sense you can know a puck is across but the cameras don't work in your favor, in this case even common sense should've been no goal. There's no way that puck was fully over the line.

Here's my thinking according to the way the rule reads: you must have conclusive evidence to OVERTURN the call on the ice. They called it a goal on the ice, but the camera angles make it impossible to conclusively prove that it didn't cross the line so therefore the call stands.

Couple things: 1) The best/cheapest thing I’ve ever seen in history by bunting, who single handily got the 2nd best Dman taken out of probably the rest of the series, and also got himself taken off of the first like for Jarnkrok and gives Knies a free place in the lineup. Which makes the leafs way better imo. 2) Theres no way that goal was goaltender interference, I am not arguing about the puck crossing over the line, I didn’t see it, but that’s a free puck in the crease. If he has it covered it might be, but Samsonov wasn’t even close to freezing that puck, you play and dig until the whistle.

If they lose like this in Game 2, then they probably should just concede to being swept. I doubt they manage to take both games in Tampa, so managing to take 1 game to come back to Toronto for Game 5 down 1-3 would just be awful. Because if that happens and they don't dominate Game 5 from beginning to end, then the crowd is going to start dismantling the arena in the middle of the game.

What should the Leaf's have done differently? Never signed Tavares in the first place, they didn't need him. But once that cat was out of the bag, you need to hire a DEFENSIVE MINDED COACH who will hold the high priced guys accountable for not back checking. It really isn't that difficult. I get it, Babcock was a jerk, then get someone else who actually has a structure in mind, and isn't a total jerk. You needed to make Barry Trotz the highest paid coach in the history of sports
