I feel like we should have seen this coming with the Panthers. President's Trophy winners having a playoff letdown have been pretty good the following season. Caps, Avs, and Lightning all won the cup the year AFTER the President's trophy.

As a Panthers fan, it's so odd to see us winning in the ways that teams used to beat us in the playoffs when we were "better" We sacrificed half a season to learn how to be proficient at playoff hockey, ironically nearly at the expense of making the playoffs. Nice to be on the other side of it though. Rough series. I feel your pain. Keep up the good work.

I'm starting to see a side of Steve that I don't like. He has this way of talking out of both sides of his mouth. It's the whole "that's not why they lost but...." way of speaking where he then heavily implies that's a huge factor to why they lost. He went off on Paul Maurice signalling the penalty differential yet here he is doing the same exact thing. The gesture was done sarcastically but he genuinely was complaining about the lack of calls just as Maurice was doing. Not to mention how sdpn was complaining after the penalty differential after game 1 of the Tampa series. Also, I hope the sdpn addresses the death threat to the refs situation since they were feeding the fire with the Wes McAuley conspiracy.

The Leafs stretch without a Cup is now 2 years longer than the New York Rangers stretch without a Cup between 1940 and 1994. "1940" was a common chant for opposing teams in the playoffs against the Rangers, and it should be only fitting the Leafs to have the same kind of chant. 1967 is a mouthful, but maybe just "67", in the same 1940 sing-song. Sixty-Seven! Sixty-Seven! Something like that.

The arrogance and ignorance most leaf fans showed after barely defeating Tampa they deserved this. Tampa out played Toronto in 4/6 games. They choked leads late and shot themselves in the foot. As much as the Leafs won those games it was given away by Tampa. Leafs nation celebrated their stanley cup by winning in the 1st round. Now it's time to go home.

I love your videos, Steve. And I feel your pain! I do have to say this, though… People keep saying that the Leafs are broken, but look, all of the games were close. Every game honestly could’ve gone either way. The playoffs are insanely hard and you need a little luck for a couple extra pucks to slip in. The reality is, the Leafs are actually a decent team but are always under a ridiculous amount of pressure. With 32 teams in the NHL, it gives you just over a 3% chance for your team to go all the way every year, so I think it’s always a little bit of a miracle no matter what team wins the cup each year!

As a Panthers fan, I've been where you are many times. If you recall, we had a 26 year deficit, not winning a series until last season where the Panthers lost in round 2, getting swept by the Lightning. I'm not going to hit you while you're down, I'll just say that if the Panthers sweep the Leafs, the record will not reflect how close these games were or how hard the Leafs fought.

I think Reinhardt was offside lol. There’s no doubt his skates crossed the blue before the puck, but I’m guess there’s a rule I don’t know about that prevents this being blown offside. you have to see the full replay, when he initially caught the puck entered the zone and went back out. If you pause it, you can see he crossed the blue before the puck.

1st Joseph Woll did what he needed to do when came in . Played well and had played well when he has started . 2nd When your 4th line 3rd line are creating chances and scoring while the top two lines have gone MIA isn't all bad but does create questions. 3rd 1st over time 3rd icing no time out and within seconds Florida scores and they win

I think we're getting a little heavy-handed if we're gonna expect these Leafs to make a serious Cup run. I'm happy they won a round and got that monkey off their back, but they sure made it tense at times in that Lightning series. Meanwhile, the Panthers are cresting at the right time of the year, and that's as big a factor as any when it comes to a team's playoff chances. Toronto could pull it off. It's just gonna take some hard work, a little coaching magic, and the big players need to step the heck up and make big plays. ...and if they don't, it's hard to blame them. Winning is HARD, especially in the playoffs. Not doing so for a long time leaves your team without that knowledge. You have to RELEARN how to do it, and you have to have leadership that will put in the work. If this year ends like it seems to be, it will definitely be a lesson. Getting the one series win is good. Now, they have to learn how to get the others.
